Woman faces multiple charges after alleged city burglary

HUDSON–Deborah A. Wright , 57, of Hudson was charged with second degree criminal trespass, fourth degree grand larceny (value greater than $1,000) and second degree burglary (with intent to commit crime in a dwelling) by Hudson Police Detective David Miller, Jr., at 24 Hoffman Street, Chatham, August 24 at 2:05 p.m.

Ms. Wright was arrested on a warrant for allegedly unlawfully entering and remaining in an Evans Court residence and stealing money and jewelry while inside. The investigation began May 5.

 

Arraigned before City Judge John Connor, Ms. Wright was sent to jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.

*Four men, some of whom were fighting among themselves at 222 Warren Street, later started fighting with police who tried to arrest them.

Richard Reed, 38, of Poughkeepsie was charged with third degree assault (with intent to cause physical injury), resisting arrest and disorderly conduct (fighting/violent behavior) by Officer Rodney Waithe, August 26 at 3:50 a.m.

Mr. Reed allegedly engaged in a fight and struck a man several times in the face, causing physical injury, which was observed by a police officer.

When the officer tried to take Mr. Reed into custody, he allegedly resisted by clenching his fist, walking away and refusing to comply with orders being given by the officer.

Mr. Reed was arraigned before Judge John Connor and released after posting $250 cash bail.

Jayson Williams, 28, of Stottville was charged with second degree obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct (fighting/violent behavior) by Officer Waithe, August 26 at 3:47 a.m.

Mr. Williams allegedly pushed an officer, and then stood between the officer and Mr. Reed while the officer was attempting to take Mr. Reed into custody. Before Mr. Williams could be taken into custody, he was seen by the officer fighting with an unknown black male in the middle of the 200 block of Warren Street. Arraigned before Judge John Connor, Mr. Williams was released on his own recognizance.

Isaiah T. Mackey, 30, of Hudson was charged with second degree obstruction of governmental administration by Officer Waithe, August 26 at 3:50 a.m. Mr. Mackey allegedly physically pushed a uniformed police officer and said, “No one is under arrest,” according to police. Mr. Mackey then allegedly stood between the officer and Mr. Williams while the officer attempted to take Mr. Williams into custody following the fight. Mr. Mackey was arraigned before Judge John Connor and released on his own recognizance.

Clint R. Lewis, 26, of Hudson was charged with disorderly conduct (fighting/violent behavior) by Officer Jacob Hoffman, III, August 26 at 4 a.m. Mr. Lewis allegedly tried to engage Mr. Reed in a physical altercation while Mr. Reed was handcuffed and being placed into a marked Hudson Police car. Mr. Lewis was issued an appearance ticket.

Drugs/alcohol

The following face drug and/or alcohol-related charges:

*Hudson Police arrested two men following a Detective Unit investigation into drug sales on South Front Street, July 20.

Michael P. Snyder, 22, of Hudson was charged with fourth degree criminal sale of marijuana and fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana. He allegedly sold less than 25 grams of marijuana to Robert W. McCagg while in public view.

Mr. McCagg, 23, of Stottville was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after police saw him with the marijuana he purchased from Mr. Snyder. He was additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for driving with a suspended license.

Detective Jason Finn, Officer Dean Rowe, Officer William Wrigley, Officer Jeffrey Keyser and Officer Daniel Scali made the arrests and conducted the investigation. Both subjects were released on $150 stationhouse bail with appearance tickets for City Court.

*Magdalene G. Madison, 22, of Stuyvesant was charged with two counts of possession of a hypodermic instrument and drinking alcohol in motor vehicle on a highway by Officer William Wrigley at 6 Prospect Avenue, Hudson, August 24 at 7:58 p.m.

Ms. Madison allegedly had an open bottle of wine in a motor vehicle along with two hypodermic needles. She was released on $100 station house bail and issued two appearance tickets and one traffic ticket returnable in City of Hudson Court.

*Richard Allen Moore, Jr., 32, of Hudson was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway by Officer Jeffrey Keyser at 504 State Street, August 25 at 11:09 p.m.

The officer saw Mr. Moore operating a motor vehicle when the officer knew his driving privileges were suspended. During a subsequent traffic stop, Mr. Moore allegedly possessed an open 24 ounce can of Bud Light Beer and a clear glass pipe containing an off-white chunky substance which field-tested positive for crack cocaine. He was released with appearance tickets.
