David J. Snyder (1928 – 2013)
KINGSTON—David J. Snyder, 85, of Livingston died Thursday, March 7 at Kingston Hospital.
Born February 6, 1928 in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Henry and Leona (Glenn) Snyder.
Mr. Snyder served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator with the combat engineers during the Korean War.
He worked as a bowling machine mechanic at the former Hendrick Hudson Bowling Lanes of Hudson where he was known as “The Chief” because of his influence on several young lives at the bowling lanes as well as with the Livingston Little League.
He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Germantown and the Southern Columbia Memorial VFW Post.
Survivors include: his wife, Marie, who he married June 12, 1952 in Germantown; two sons, David (Rosemary) Snyder of Germantown and Thomas Snyder of Livingston; a brother, David (Carla) Snyder of Queensbury; a granddaughter, Linda Snyder and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Edward and two sisters, Leona and Marie.
Services will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 12 from the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown and 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, Germantown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in the spring in the West Taghkanic Cemetery.
Donald Lester (1928 – 2013)
KINGSTON—Donald Lester, 84, passed away at Kingston Hospital, Thursday, March 7, 2013.
He was born to the late J.D. Lester and Ada McPherson July 13, 1928 in Highland.
From his childhood years through middle-age, Mr. Lester worked on the family poultry farm on Perkinsville Road in Highland. Industrious and hard-working, he was an integral member of the family business down through the years. He later worked for Gateway Industries in New Paltz until his retirement.

Frederick W. Hatesaul (1964 – 2013)
RHINEBECK—Frederick W. Hatesaul, 49, of Gallatin died Sunday March 10, 2013 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Born February 20, 1964 in Rhinebeck, he was the son of Lieselotte (Bitter) Hatesaul of Rhinebeck and the late Frederick Hatesaul.
Mr. Hatesaul was a graduate of SUNY Brockport and did his student teaching in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was a substitute teacher at the Rhinebeck High School. He was a member of the Third Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinebeck. He had a passion for the music of Elton John and 1970s Motown, for movies, and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Donna Craft-Hatesaul; sons, Nikolaus and William, both of Gallatin; sisters, Anne Lisa Lane of Rhinebeck and Christina Hatesaul of Saugerties; one nephew, Christopher Lane; a niece, Melanie and family in Germany.
He was predeceased by his step-brothers, Wolfgang Hatesaul and Hasco Hatesaul.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at the Third Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 Livingston Street, Rhinebeck.

John H. Stickles (1952 – 2013)
HUDSON—John Henry Stickles, 61, of Hudson died Monday, March 11, 2013 at home.
Born February 10, 1952 in Hudson, he was the son of Alice Stickles of Hudson and the late Albert Stickles.
Mr. Stickles was a machinist at McGuire Corporation in Hudson. He also worked at Lorbrook, KAZ, Inc., and the Hudson Housing Authority. Mr. Stickles enjoyed spending time on the Hudson River, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by: his brother, Harry (Deborah) Stickles of Hudson; a niece, Christina Stickles of Hudson and a nephew, Harry Stickles, Jr., of Virginia Beach.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
