Brian Philip Arsenault (1966 – 2013)
LIVINGSTON—Brian Philip Arsenault, 46, of Livingston passed away, Monday, July 15, 2013.
He was born September 20, 1966 in Sharon, CT.
He is survived by: his wife, Bella Arsenault; two sons, Austin and Chad Arsenault; a step-daughter, Taura Harkins; his parents, Gloria (Flint) and Philip Arsenault; his siblings, Brenda and Thomas Jahoda, Michelle and John Jennings, Tina and Earl Lyons, Tammy and David Lyons; his mother-in-law, Mary Davis; sister-in-law, Rebecca and Frank Buffa; brother-in-law, Jesse and Susan Davis; many nieces and nephews; extended family members and friends.
He is a 1984 graduate of Germantown Central School, who was a hardworking and loving father. He enjoyed driving his truck. He was employed by Fane Trucking and was longtime past employee of Staats Dairy and Hudson River Bulk.
A memorial service took place at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown, Sunday, July 21, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to any First Niagara Bank, to the Brian Arsenault Scholarship fund, in trust for Austin Arsenault.
John Strilec (1918 – 2013)
LIVINGSTON—John Strilec, 94, of Hudson died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Whippany, NJ, July 28, 1918, he was the son of the late Michael and Anastasia Strilec.
He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. He lived in New York City after marrying and moved to Columbia County in 1950. He had been employed by Farber Brothers in New York City, Federal Barring in Poughkeepsie, Interpace in Hudson and by Dierke’s Transportation until his retirement at the age of 88.
He is survived by: his son, Richard Strilec and his companion, Alice Slingerland of Delmar; his daughter, Leslie Strilec and her husband, Edward Leonard of Hudson; and two grandchildren, Rachel Strilec and Sandy Strilec. He was predeceased by his wife, Stephanie (Ryby) Strilec. A private memorial will be held by his family.
Margery Mooney (1938 – 2013)
HUDSON—Margery S. Mooney of Canaan passed away at Columbia Memorial Hospital, July 12, 2013 after a brief illness.
She was born in Boston, MA, September 25, 1938, the daughter of George and Florence Smith, both deceased. Mrs. Mooney was also predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Mooney, whom she married April 18, 1964.
She is survived by: her loving children, Kent Mooney of New Lebanon and her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Michael O’Grady of Canaan. She also leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and William Davis of Vermont.
Mrs. Mooney graduated from Dedham High School in 1956. After graduating, she worked as a secretary at North Eastern University before moving to Canaan, where she worked for the Berkshire Farm Center for many years. Mrs. Mooney then held various other positions, eventually retiring from the B3 Solid Waste and Transfer Station in Canaan.
She was a communicant of the Church of Our Saviour in New Lebanon. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Her favorite activity was playing the slots with her friend, Sue. Mrs. Mooney was an usher at the Theatre Barn in New Lebanon at the time of her death.
There was a memorial service for Mrs. Mooney, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Church of Our Saviour, 14660 State Route 22, New Lebanon.

Donald E. Pulver, Sr. (1937 – 2013)
HUDSON—Donald E. Pulver, Sr., 75, of Milan passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
For many years, Mr. Pulver was a carpenter and also a foreman with Hudson Valley Acoustical in Poughkeepsie.
He was a member of Local 19 Carpenters Union and also the Lathers Union.
Born November 3, 1937 in Red Hook, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Lucy (Wetzler) Pulver.
Mr. Pulver married Virginia “Ginny” Smith, February 2, 1958 at St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook. She survives at home in Milan.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by: three daughters, Sherry Decker and her husband Chandler of Red Hook, Tammy Pulver of Red Hook and Wendy Brandt and her husband Roger Brandt of Port Ewen; a son, Todd Pulver and his companion Tom Greco of Rochester; his grandchildren, Ryan Brandt, Kate Brandt, Dan Brandt, Michael Hangac, Chris Hangac, Greg Hangac and Linsey Pulver; his sisters, Muriel Orr of Poughkeepsie, Marion (Jim) Kellerhouse of Tennessee, Betty Duntz of Elizaville and Irene (George) Voegler of Red Hook; his great grandchildren; Max Hangac, and Vandyn Brandt, his step great grandchild, Kassie Miller; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by a son, Donald E. Pulver, Jr., in 2006.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook. The Rev. Xavier Santiago officiated. Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
