Mary Louise Olsen (1938 – 2013)

ALBANY— A Memorial Service for Mary Louise Olsen will be held Saturday, December 14 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Our Savior, 14660 Route 22, Lebanon Springs.

The Reverend Canon Clinton Dugger will officiate. Her ashes will be buried with her parents in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon following the service.  A reception will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall following the interment.

Ms. Olsen, 74, of New Lebanon died peacefully early Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at the Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of Our Savior, P.O. Box 827, New Lebanon 12125 or to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA, 125 Humane Society Road, Hudson 12534.

Elizabeth J. Lauro (1935 – 2013)

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—Elizabeth J. Lauro, 78, of Hillsdale passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Fairview Commons.

She was born March 30, 1935 in Hudson to the late George and Martha (Parchuck) Tuczynski.

Mrs. Lauro was a graduate of Hudson High School and worked for the United States Postal Service in Hillsdale and Hudson.

On November 7, 1954 in Stockport, she married Michael Lauro. Mr. Lauro predeceased her in 1998.

Survivors include: her daughter, Michelle Mellan and husband Matthew of Egremont, MA and son James Lauro and wife Kim of Colonie; her grandchildren, Stephen Pfeiffer and wife Samantha, Daniel Bigelow and wife Vernetta and James Lauro, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Myles Pfeiffer, Daniel Bigelow, Jr., and Angel Marie Bigelow; her brother, Paul Tuczynski and his wife June along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Michael, she was also predeceased by a brother, Donald Tuczynski.

Friends are invited and may call at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22, Copake, Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 2, 2013, 11 a.m. from the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8074 State Route 22 in Copake Falls.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Stuyvesant Falls.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany 12205.

Doris Evelyn Garafalo (1921 – 2013)

GHENT—Doris Evelyn Garafalo, 92, a resident of Whittier Rehabilitation Center died Thursday, November 28, 2013.

Born May 27, 1921 in Stockport, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Marinda (VanKuren) Green.

Mrs. Garafalo was a floor clerk at Columbia Memorial Hospital for many years.

She is survived by: three children, Gary G. Garafalo (Winnie) of Hollowville, Carolyn C. Shufelt (Ron) and Daryl J. Garafalo (Donna), both of West Ghent; seven grandchildren, Tara Shufelt Banks, Nicholas and Seth Garafalo, Lori Shufelt, Edward Garafalo, Candy Garafalo Mink and Renee Brandenburg; five great-grandchildren, Austin Shufelt, Jasmine and Philip Garafalo, Tanna Banks, Anthony Malchow; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Charles Garafalo and two sisters, Madeline Jordan and Mabel Austin.

Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
