VALATIE – Due to a water main break discovered in the village yesterday, November 4, a boil-water notice remains in effect. The notice is scheduled to last a total of for 48 hours, which would extend until at least midday Wednesday, November 6.
The village posted information on its website Monday and emailed residents who had previously signed up for alerts.
Village Clerk Melissa Martin-Morin said Tuesday that the notice must remain in effect for two days, starting from the time crews began repairing the break on Monday. The water was tested Tuesday, Ms. Martin-Morin said, and the result showed no problems. But regulations require that it be tested again.
The break occurred on Route 9 in front of plaza that houses Ocean State Job Lot.
Residents are directed to boil water they plan to use for two minutes. The village will post updated information at http://www.valatievillage.com/.
