Margery K. Miller (1928 – 2013)

ALBANY—Margery K. Miller, 85, of Livingston passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Hudson, February 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ross B. and Lillian Schermerhorn.

Mrs. Miller was employed for more than 37 years at the Universal Match Factory in the print department and was also the shop steward. She was a member of the Golden Agers, the Dirty Dozen and the Southern Tier Seniors group. Mrs. Miller enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, playing bingo and word puzzles. She was also the family historian.

Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Hudson High School in 1946. While in high school she sang in the choir and was a pitcher on the baseball team.

She is survived by: her devoted children, Marilyn Miller of Ghent, Marian Hess of New Baltimore, Muriel Miller of Castleton and Cecil Clifford Miller of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Edith Walsh of Texas; three brothers, Frank Schermerhorn of Philmont, Bobby Schermerhorn of Ghent and Kenneth Schermerhorn of Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Miller in 2004 and her daughter, Mary Markowitz.

Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, December 20 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 21 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Nicholas Michael Turek (1990 – 2013)

UTICA—Nicholas Michael Turek, 23, of Linlithgo passed away suddenly December 13, 2013 in Utica.

He was the beloved and cherished son of Michael and Florence Turek and also leaves his loving sister, Amanda Turek. He was the most beloved grandson of Joanne and Alfred Turek and Jim Williams.

He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and his dear cat, Yuna.

He was predeceased by his grandmother, Jenny Williams.

Mr. Turek graduated from Germantown Central High School and Columbia-Greene Community College where he earned an associate’s degree in computer science.

He was attending Utica College and pursuing his bachelor’s degree.

He enjoyed photography and was a talented artist.

A celebration of his life will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 18 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown.

Mary Davi (1922 – 2013)

HUDSON—Mary Davi, 91, of Hudson, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born November 7, 1922 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Dominica Lippera.

Mrs. Davi and her late husband, John, owned and operated Davi’s Driving School in Hudson. She was a bus driver for the Hendrick Hudson Bus Lines. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Davi was a very generous, charitable person, especially with veterans charities.

Surviving are: her daughter, Mary Frances Young (Bob) of Catskill; her son, Michael Davi (Kathi) of Cape Coral, FL; four grandchildren, Andrea Young-Harvey (Chris) of Catskill, Lara Davi of Albany, Mehgan Young and Erin Young, both of Catskill; a great-granddaughter, Mya Harvey; two sisters, Frances Stone of Columbiaville and Anna Barone of Hudson; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Davi; her son, John Davi; her daughter, Andrea DiCintio; a grandson, Joseph DiCintio; three sisters, Ada Grand, Giacomina Barone and Dora Graziano; her brother, Nicholas Lippera.

A calling hour will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 19 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Jennifer E. Kline (1969 -2013)

STUYVESANT FALLS—Jennifer E. Kline, 44, of Stuyvesant Falls joined her Saviour in paradise while surrounded by her family, Monday, December 16, 2013.

Born in Albany November 12, 1969, she was the daughter of William J. and Bernice “Bunny” Otterbeck of Kinderhook.

Mrs. Kiline was a dedicated and loved Kindergarten teacher at Ichabod Crane Primary School for 10 years. Throughout her three-year battle with cancer, her focus has always been on others, even to the very end.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband,  Steven G. Kline; her daughter, Shelby J. Kline; son, Jonathan D. Kline; her sisters, Kristin M. Scace and Sandra L. Hamm; a brother, Jonathan W. Otterbeck; nieces and nephews; Erica, Caleb, Billy, Timmy, Skylar, JJ, Robin and Jeff.

A celebration of Mrs. Kline’s life will be held Saturday, December 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Raymond E Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.

Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Kline Children College Fund, c/o Trustco Bank, 2929 Route 9, Valatie 12184.
