Isabel M. Heald (1923 – 2013)

VALATIE—Isabel Myers Heald, 90, of Valatie died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at her home.

Born February 16, 1923 in Kinderhook, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Johanna (Stockman) Lebrecht.

Mrs. Heald worked at the Valatie Post Office for many years. She was the first woman member of the Valatie Rescue Squad, a CPR and first-aid instructor, a former member of the Ichabod Crane School Board, a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Valatie and a recipient of the Dewitt Clinton Award.

She is survived by: three children, Maryanne Hernandez (Edgar) of Valatie, Michael Myers (Sandy) of Stuyvesant and Catherine Myers of Albany; six grandchildren, Erin Skinner, Elizabeth, Elaine and Emily Hernandez, Tyler and Kimberly Myers; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Francis Myers and Douglas Heald and her children, Margaret Myers, Doris Skinner and Robert Myers.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, December 21 at St. John the Baptist Church, Route 9, Valatie, with the Reverend Gary Gelfenbein officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Valatie Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 242, Valatie 12184.

Arrangements were with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.

Judith A. Schammann (1946 – 2013)

ALBANY—Judith A. Schammann, 67, of Hollowville passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Born July 8, 1946 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Doris (Hoyt) Maxwell.

Mrs. Schammann was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and loved to share her culinary expertise. She also loved to play bingo.

Surviving are: her son, Ronald Maxwell of Hudson; two daughters, Brandy Jennings and Angel Patterson, both of Hudson; three grandchildren, Carie Patterson of Claverack, Alicia Raymond and Larissa Raymond, both of Hudson; her sister, Robin Hoysradt of Hollowville; two brothers, Wallace Maxwell, Jr., of Philmont and William Maxwell of Hudson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald W. Schammann in 2012.

Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, December 23 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Services will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visit www.batesanderson.com to leave condolences.
