Julia A. Kelly (1933 – 2014)
LIVINGSTON—Julia A. Kelly, 81, of Livingston, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her residence.
Born February 15, 1933 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Stella (Kasuba) Kosmaczewski (Kosmo).
Mrs. Kelly was employed by the New York State Training School for Girls in Hudson in the office. She adored her granddaughters and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.
Mrs. Kelly was the beloved mother of Kathlene Lewis and her husband, Robert, of Monroe, North Carolina; devoted grandmother of Krysten and Samantha Lewis, and loving sister of Irene Riddleburgh of Ohio and Jennie Chuckta of East Greenbush. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Kelly in 1996, and two sisters, Ida Powanda and Jeanette Secor.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 10 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.
Prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 11 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.

William S. Thorne, Jr. (1919 – 2014)
FT. MYERS, FL—William “Bill” S. Thorne, Jr., 94 of Chatham and Fort Myers, FL, died Thursday, March 6 at Hope Hospice at Cape Coral Hospital.
He was born June 1, 1919 in Albany, the son of the late William S. and Minnie (Cook) Thorne, Sr.
He graduated Chatham High School and Cornell University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. Mr. Thorne and his wife of 67 years, Dora (Riley) Thorne owned and operated the family chicken farm in Chatham for more than 20 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Columbia County Cooperative Extension and a member of the Chatham United Methodist Church.
Mr. Thorne’s passions included traveling, golfing, tennis, gardening, dancing as well as spending time with his great granddaughter, Kayleigh.
In addition to his wife, Dora (Dodie) of Chatham and Fort Myers, he is survived by: two sons, W. Stephen Thorne, III, and his wife Alaine of Chatham, Jonathan (Jack) P. Thorne of St. Petersburgh, FL; grandchildren, Lara V. and husband Tom Gonser of Chatham, William C. and his wife Sara Thorne of Ghent and great granddaughter, Kayleigh of Ghent.
Services will be held at a later date.

Henry Heissenbuttle (1930 – 2014)
GALLATIN—Henry Heissenbuttle, 83, of Clermont died Monday, March 3, 2014 in Gallatin.
Born December 19, 1930 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Henry and Minnie (Kahle) Heissenbuttle.
He had owned and operated the family farm in Clermont since the death of his parents.
He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Viewmonte.
Survivors include: his relatives, Katherine Dowden of Rhinebeck, Arthur Stegemann of Indiana, Alma Saulpaugh of Hudson, Beatrice Potts of Clermont, Ethel Wagner of Albany, George Kahle of Poughkeepsie, William Kahle, Jr., of Clermont, Barbara Moore of Clermont, John Halterman, Jr., of Clermont; his caretakers and friends, Edward and Deti Hull of Elizaville; his friends, Nancy Rumke and Nadine Rumke both of Germantown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown. Burial followed in the Viewmonte Rural Cemetery.

Brandon M. O’Connell (1992 – 2014)
RHINEBECK—Brandon M. O’Connell, 21, of Livingston died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Northern Dutchess Hospital as a result of an accident in the Town of Red Hook.
He was born November 28, 1992 in Rhinebeck, the son of Carrie Hill of Livingston.
He had attended the Germantown Central School and was employed as an assistant resident manager at the Devereux Foundation in Red Hook.
Mr. O’Connell loved his family, enjoyed working on cars, was a fan of the New York Giants and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors in addition to his mother are: his fiancée, Laura Coumbes; his son, Chase; daughters, Mallory and Makenna; brothers, Eric Hill and Garrett Hill, both of Livingston; sisters, Jessica Stewart and Danielle O’Connell, both of Livingston; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life was held Saturday, March 8 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown.
Dorothy Hausman (1924 – 2014)
PHILMONT—Dorothy Hausman, 89, of Philmont died Friday, March 7, 2014.
Born August 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Nat and Anna (Mezak) Kurys.
Mrs. Hausman worked for the Ockawamick Central School District as a cafeteria aide for many years. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church in Philmont and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hausman was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by: her sons, Paul and (Laura) Hausman of Chatham, John and (Marion) Hausman of West Virginia, Raymond and (Stephanie) of Minnesota; daughter, Christine and (John) Schaible of Hillsdale; grandchildren, Lisa, Mathew, David, Michael, Steven, Julie, Ryan and Eric and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry G. Hausman, Jr., June 21, 2000; son, Edward Hausman in 2001; her sister, Helen Kulikowski; brother, Peter Kurys; grandchildren, Wayne and Lucy and great-granddaughter, Lucy Ann.
Calling hours will be Sunday, March 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 10 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Deacon Warren Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Philmont.
