Marie R. Bogarski (1925 – 2014)

HUDSON—Marie (Mary) Bogarski, 88, of Columbiaville died March 8, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born June 9, 1925 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Stephanie (Konietzny) Gambacorta.

She is survived by: her daughter, Mary Ann Gabriel (Richard) of Stockport; one son, William A. Bogarski (Teena) of Kinderhook; five grandchildren, Victor and Mia Gabriel, Billy Bogarski, Nathan Taylor and Nicole Shove; two sisters, Angelina Tuczynski of Wappingers Falls and Theresa Halstead of Ghent; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, William Bogarski and three brothers, Francis, Lorenze and Santo Gambacorta.

Mrs. Bogarski was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She took great pride in her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and gardening. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Stockport Garage and the Stockport Paper Company. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stockport Home Bureau and past president of the Stockport Fire Company Auxiliary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 12, 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Joseph, 1820 U.S. Route 9, Stuyvesant Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, the Stockport Fire Company or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
