Police say Philmont woman wielded knife as threat

STOCKPORT—Erin L. Cmuchowski, 20, of Philmont was charged with second degree menacing, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth degree criminal mischief, all class A misdemeanors, by Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Donald Krapf and Deputy Cindy Madison, March 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Ms. Cmuchowski is accused of threatening a male victim with a knife and then causing damage to a parked vehicle. She was arraigned in Stockport Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $500 bail. She was scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.

Kinderhook

Nathan R. Shook, 21, of Kinderhook was charged with second degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor, by Deputy Toby VanAlstyne, March 7 at 6:58 a.m.

Mr. Shook allegedly violated an order of protection. He was arraigned in Stuyvesant Court and released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in Kinderhook Town Court at a later date.

Greenport

Bruce J. Pigford, 23, of Hudson was charged with fourth degree grand larceny, a class E felony, by Deputies Kris Bauhoff and Thomas Bagnall, March 15 at 4:41 a.m.

Mr. Pigford is accused of stealing property from another person in Greenport.

He was arraigned in Greenport Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. He will return to court at a later date.

*Evan M. Kravitz, 32, of Hudson was charged with third degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief, both class A misdemeanors, by Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Andrew Broockmann, March 17 at 3:03 p.m.

Mr. Kravitz was arrested on a warrant because he allegedly caused damage to a vehicle and assaulted the vehicle’s owner during an incident in the Walmart parking lot. Mr. Kravitz was arraigned in Greenport Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.

Copake

Michael Fix, Sr., 42, of Copake was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, by Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Andrew Broockmann, March 12 at 9:21 a.m.

The incident occurred at a private residence in Copake. Mr. Fix was arraigned in Hillsdale Court and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Copake Court at a later date.

Drugs/alcohol

The following face drug- and/or alcohol-related charges:

*Jose E. Cruz, 19, of Ghent was charged with driving while intoxicated by State Police from Kinderhook, March 16. Troopers pulled Mr. Cruz over for crossing hazardous road markings on State Route 9H, Kinderhook. During an interview, they found him to be intoxicated. Mr. Cruz provided a breath sample with a 0.14% blood alcohol content. He was issued tickets returnable in Kinderhook Town Court at a later date.

*Ricky R. Smith, Jr., 21, of Stuyvesant was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana by State Police from Kinderhook, March 15. Troopers stopped Mr. Smith for not wearing his seatbelt while driving on County Route 26A, Stuyvesant. During an interview, troopers saw the illegal drugs. Mr. Smith was issued tickets returnable in Stuyvesant Court at a later date.

*Lisa Barros, 41, of Elizaville was charged with driving while intoxicated by State Police from New Lebanon, March 16. Troopers pulled her over on State Route 22, New Lebanon after they saw her speeding. During the traffic stop, troopers discovered she was intoxicated. Ms. Barros provided a breath sample with a 0.09% blood alcohol content. She was issued tickets returnable in New Lebanon Court April 3.

*Cecilia F. Paulino, 49, of Athens was charged with driving while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol content greater than .08%, both class U misdemeanors, by Deputies Jason Garvey and Thomas Bagnall, March 7 at 12:20 a.m. She was pulled over in Greenport and failed field sobriety tests. A breathalyzer test yielded a .12% blood alcohol content. She was released with tickets returnable in Greenport Court at a later date.

*Maxwell S. Tolleson, 23, of Austin, TX, was charged with driving while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol content greater than .08%, both class U misdemeanors, by Deputies Jason Garvey and Peter Merante, March 9 at 12:40 a.m. Mr. Tolleson submitted to a breathalyzer test which yielded a .08% blood alcohol content result. He was released with tickets returnable in Germantown Court April 9.

*Tonya B. Woznieski, 41, of Stottville was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a class U misdemeanor, by K9 Deputy Travis VanAlstyne, March 16 at 7:49 p.m. Ms. Woznieski was operating a motor vehicle on Union Turnpike in Greenport with a suspended license. She is accused of possessing crack cocaine. She was issued tickets returnable in Greenport Court at a later date.
