Linda S. Jones (1948 – 2014)

CASTLETON—Linda S. Jones, 65, of Kinderhook Lake, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Riverside Nursing Center.

Born August 27, 1948 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Hastings and Celina (Hunter) Jones.

She is survived by: three children, Dionne Dawson of Stuyvesant, Peter Gerkman of Valatie and Rhonda Gerkman of Stuyvesant; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a niece, Tracey Gecewicz; several other nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Route 9 Valatie.

Ella Mae Snyder (1921 – 2014)

GHENT—Ella Mae Snyder died peacefully April 8, 2014 at Whittier Nursing Facility at age 92.

She was born in Hudson, December 1, 1921 to Margaret and Howard Sweet.

Mrs. Snyder was predeceased by her husband, Harold Snyder; two brothers, Widmer (Woody) Sweet and Howard Sweet, Jr.; and two sisters, Pauline Nitsky and Viola Lippera.

She is survived by: two sisters, Marcia (Roger) Garcia and Betty Pulver; many nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Friday morning, April 11 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Burial was in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Christine Szczepanski (1942 – 2014)

CANAAN—Christine Szczepanski of Canaan passed away suddenly at her home on April 9, 2014.

She was born May 19, 1942 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Walter and Laura Wlostowski Waiss.

Mrs. Szczepanski worked as an executive secretary for a telecommunications company until her retirement. After that she devoted all her time to the family she loved.

She also enjoyed quilting, gardening and volunteering at the Chatham Silent Food Pantry.

Mrs. Szczepanski is survived by: her loving husband, Stanley; her sons, Peter (Kathi), Ted (Deborah Simon) and John-Paul (Christine); her grandchildren, Rose, Grace, Benjamin and Alexander; her sisters, Karen (Mark) and Marsha (Greg); her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, Friday, April 11 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be celebrated at the funeral home, Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Canaan Cemetery.
