OBITUARIES: Cayouette, West, Trombly

Roger J. Cayouette (1938 – 2015)

POUGHKEEPSIE—Roger J. Cayouette, 76, of Gallatin passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center.

He was born June 14, 1938 in Astoria, the son of Gay and Juliette (Chabot) Cayouette.

Mr. Cayouette was a window trimmer for Bonds Clothing in New York City.

He was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus in Long Island City.

On December 13, 1957 in Astoria, he married Margaret C. (Levandi) Cayouette. She predeceased him August 23, 2009.

Survivors include: three daughters, Janine (Chris) Janos of Flushing, Denise Weaver of Gallatin and Michele (Johnny) Steigerwald of White Stone; five grandchildren, Mallory Weaver, Jonathan Janos, Jason Janos, Corey Weaver and Christine Janos.

Calling hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, February 27 at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 28, 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Hope, 8074 State Route 22, Copake Falls, with the Reverend George Brennan officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in the family plot in the spring.

Jean A. West (1935 – 2015)

PHILMONT—Jean A. West, 79, of Ghent passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 with her loving family by her side at the Pine Haven Home.

Born in Hudson, March 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn (Altheiser) Radewitz.

Mrs. West was employed for most of her life at the Fairview Cinema 3 in Hudson, where she worked closely with her longtime friend, Bruce Mitchinson.

She was an avid New York Mets fan and especially enjoyed Sunday dinners and vacationing with her family at Alpine Lake Campsite and Rockport, MA.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was predeceased by her husband, Edward T. West and her beautiful granddaughter, Megan Dallas.

She is survived by: her loving sister, Joan Caggianelli; her son, Thomas West (Kate); daughters, Patti West, Theresa Decker (Brian) and Bridget Shetsky (John); 14 grandchildren, Michelle, Kristen, Brian, Nicole, Zack, Julia, Jacob, Johnny, Jace, Jon, Hailee, Isaiah, Brianna and Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Brian Evan and Maddox Christopher; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 24 at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport, with the Reverend Tom Wright officiating. Burial will be in Mellenville Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairview Cinema 3, Hudson 12534 to support the Go Digital or Go Dark Fund.

Lorraine Trombly (1951 – 2015)

PHILMONT—Lorraine Trombly, 63, of Hudson, a longtime resident, passed away with her family at her side, Wednesday, February 18 at Pine Haven Nursing Home. Born in Brooklyn, October 16, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Albert, Sr., and Marie (Fiore) Martin.

Mrs. Trombly was a home health aide and worked at the Firemen’s Home for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grand- and great-grandmother.

She will be greatly missed by: her sons, James, Anthony and John Servider, all of Hudson; one daughter, Priscilla Dyan Blanchard; her brother, Richard Martin; sister, Brenda Lee Martin; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Trombly and brother, Albert Martin.
