CLAVERACK–An early morning fire in Claverack forced the residents of a four-family apartment building to flee. The fire happened at 222 Old Lane Extension at around 5:30 Thursday morning, April 2. Flames were shooting from the second floor kitchen area.
As many as 8 people lived in the building. A firefighter on the scene said the fire appeared to have originated in the kitchen of one of the apartments.
Columbia County’s Cause and Origin Team will investigate.
