John J. Berberich, Jr. (1951 – 2015)
HUDSON—John “Jack” Berberich of Hudson passed away April 1, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital with his loving wife at his side.
Born January 9, 1951 in Oahu, Hawaii, he was the first son of the late John and late Regina (Burham) Berberich, Sr.
His family moved to the Bronx in 1955 and then settled in Thornwood in 1963, where he spent the rest of his childhood.
He is survived by: his devoted wife, Mary Lee (Marbach) Berberich; loving children, Kerry (Berberich) Konow of Claverack, Shannon Berberich of Greenport and Sean Berberich of West Coxsackie; granddaughters, Hannah, Morgan and Abigail Konow of Claverack; and son-in-law, Christopher Konow of Claverack; brothers, James, Joseph and Jay of Groton, CT; sisters, Jean (Berberich) Casey of Mahopac and Jessica (Berberich) Daly of Pleasant Valley; many nephews and nieces.
He was a 1969 graduate of Westlake High School, where he was star receiver and captain of the football team. He graduated in 1973 from the State University of New York at Purchase with a degree in finance.
He married the love of his life, Mary Lee (Marbach) of White Plains in 1973, and settled in Wappingers Falls in 1976 to raise his family.
For many years he worked as controller of Tesa Tape, Inc. and as a mutual clerk for Yonkers Raceway, and later as controller for VAW until his retirement in 2008, when he moved to Hudson to be near his children and grandchildren.
He was a devoted and loyal husband, father and grandfather to his family and always put his loved ones before himself. He was well-loved and will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be held Monday, April 6, 9 a.m. to noon at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown. Funeral services will be that day at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church/Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson.
Elizabeth Pietrak (1922 – 2015)
CANAAN—Elizabeth “Betty” G. Pietrak, 93, a lifelong resident of Spencertown, died Friday, April 3 at her son’s home.
She was born March 22, 1922 in Spencertown, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Douglas) Whiffen.
She attended Spencertown Academy and graduated from Chatham High School. She was employed early on with the New York Telephone Company in Albany for 10 years.
Later, she and her husband, the late John E. Pietrak (1990), raised their family in Spencertown and lived there ever since.
Mrs. Pietrak was a 77-year-member of the St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church in Spencertown. She enjoyed her flower gardens especially her hollyhocks.
Mrs. Pietrak is survived by: a daughter, Ellen E. Pietrak and her companion James Tomaso of Greenport; two sons, Douglas J. Pietrak and wife Julie of Ghent, Mark E. Pietrak and companion Nancy Kie of Canaan; sister, Grace Ann Silvernale and husband Harold of Spencertown; grandchildren, Megan Kie, Maria Pietrak and Christina Galarneau, Erin and Michael Pietrak and Erica Balaz; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Graysen Galarneau, Lucas Pietrak, Nicholas Balaz and Arabella Pietrak.

Frederick D. Zelno, Jr. (1953 – 2015)
STUYVESANT—Frederick D. Zelno, Jr., 61, of Stuyvesant passed away April 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born July 10, 1953 in Albany, he was the son of the late Frederick D. and Frances (Grabowski) Zelno, Sr.
Mr. Zelno worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany for many years. He was an inactive member of the Stuyvesant Fire Company, a member of the Columbia Car Club and the Stuyvesant Reformed Church. Mr. Zelno was also a musician and enjoyed playing guitar and writing music.
He is survived by: his wife, Sharon (Egnasher) Zelno; two sisters, Agnes Austin of Albany and Lee Pasetto of Schodack; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte McDermott.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, noon at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Burial will follow in Kinderhook Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral.
Anna M. Feller (1930 – 2015)
ALBANY—Anna M. Feller, 84, of Livingston died Friday, April 3, 2015 after a brief illness at Albany Medical Center. She was born in Hudson, December 31, 1930 to the late Guistino and Olympia Ciancetta. She was also predeceased by her husband, Arthur F. Feller, Sr., whom she married November 30, 1952, and two brothers, Angelo and Joseph Ciancetta.
Mrs. Feller graduated from Hudson High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family. She was a member of the Clermont Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.
She is survived by: her children, Denise M. Feller of Livingston, Florence (Robert) Stickles of Livingston and Arthur F. Feller, Jr., of Greenport; her siblings, Carmine (Carol) Ciancetta, Marie (Thomas) Quigley and Victoria Jenowich; four grandchildren, Erika Feller of Greenport, Adam (Angelina) Stickles of Morgan Hill, CA, Brian (Caitlin) Stickles of Germantown and Jessica (Michael) Lopin of New Rochelle; one great-grandchild, Andrea Lopin; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 8, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
Prayers will be said Thursday, April 9, 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church/Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson. Burial will be in the Linlithgo Cemetery.
