Stephen Paul Mesick (1966 – 2015)
NEW LEBANON—Stephen Paul Mesick passed away in his home March 31, 2015.
He was born in Catskill, April 2, 1966.
He was a graduate of Chatham High School and played football for the Chatham Panthers.
He was a man of many trades, including landscaping, painting and carpentry.
He is survived by: his girlfriend, Teddi Quick; mother, Doreen McIntosh and her husband James McIntosh; sister, Lisa Thomas and wife Cynthia Craft; sister, Robin McIntosh; brother, Mark McIntosh and wife Sandra McIntosh; son, Kyle Mesick and fiancé Krystle Spateholts; daughter, Kristy Mesick and boyfriend Basti Rebing; nephews, Ryan Thomas and Michael McIntosh; two granddaughters, Haigen and Kollette Mesick.
He was predeceased by his father, William Mesick; sister, Melissa Mesick; brother, Michael McIntosh and wife, Christina Walsh Mesick.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, car racing, demolition derby, music and playing the drums. He was a big fan of Metallica and the New York Yankees.
He was also a talented artist and enjoyed nature. He was a member of the Ghent Sportsmen’s Club and the Ghent VFW. He often participated in the Ghent Marching Band.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ghent VFW, 2237 State Route 66, Ghent.

Dennis Gansinger (1929 – 2015)
CRARYVILLE—Dennis F. Gansinger, 85, of Craryville passed away suddenly Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Born August 30, 1929 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Reithofer) Gansinger.
Mr. Gansinger earned his associate’s degree in chemistry from Westchester County Community College.
He married Lorraine Bascom July 23, 1950 in Red Hook. She predeceased him June 1, 2013.
He served in United State Army during the Korean War.
For many years he worked as a chemist with the Bulova Watch Company in New York City. Following his retirement he worked for a number of years at Walmart in Greenport.
An avid musician, Mr. Gansinger could play both the clarinet and saxophone.
A kind, giving and devoted father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving family, including: his daughter, Deborah Gansinger-Hall; his son, Steven Gansinger and his wife Lisa; his grandchildren, Ethan Hall and Lauren Gansinger; his sister-in-law, Barbara Kiefer; his brother-in-law, Cecil (Jane) Bascom; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Jackie Jefferson will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.

Edna R. Saulpaugh (1920 – 2015)
EAST GREENBUSH—Edna Louise R. Saulpaugh, 94, formerly of Red Hook, passed away in East Greenbush, March 28, 2015.
She was born September 18, 1920, the daughter of Nina and Tracy Rockefeller of Germantown.
She was predeceased in 2014 by her beloved husband, Gordon Saulpaugh, to whom she was married for nearly 70 years.
She is survived by: her daughters and sons-in-law, Susanne Saulpaugh of Rensselaer and Boston, MA, Sandra and John Tuller of Honeoye Falls and Becky and Leo Hacker of Rensselaer; her grandsons, William, Robert and John Tuller; her sister, Imogene Salisbury; three nieces and her cherished, lifelong friend, Eileen Stott Parker.
Mrs. Saulpaugh was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who always put the needs of her family first. She was very proud of her career as a registered nurse, especially for the years she worked for her good friends, Drs. Lenke and Joseph Velasco. In addition, she spent endless hours supporting her husband in handling all the administrative duties of running the family business. In her limited free time, she loved to knit.
The family will always be grateful to Eileen Zinnanti and Elisa Shaw for their kindness and the compassionate care they gave to their parents.

Perfecta Perez (1925 – 2015)
CANAAN, CT—Perfecta Perez, 88, of Greenport, formerly of New York City, died Friday April 3, 2015 at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
Born April 18, 1925 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Aurora (Grajales) Acevedo.
She was predeceased by her husband, Segundo Perez.
Mrs. Perez was a seamstress for more than 50 years and will be greatly missed by: her nephews, Pedro (Elizabeth) Perez, Martin Perez, John (Janice) Perez; her sister, Emma Perez; two nieces and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A visiting hour will be held Saturday, April 11 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lucas Quinones officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson. Joan R. Bleau (1942 – 2015)
NIVERVILLE—Joan R. Bleau, 72, of Niverville died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her home.
She was born in Albany and was a receptionist for Barnwell Nursing home for 14 years before retiring.
Mrs. Bleau was predeceased by her two husbands, Henry W. Bittorf and Harold F. Bleau.
She is survived by: her children, Tammy (Henry) Swartz, Penny Lee Casey and Henry G. (Sonia) Bittorf; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held Saturday, April 4 from the William J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc., 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer.
Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer.
Dorothy Stickles (1922 – 2015)
TROY—Dorothy Stickles, daughter of the late Myrtle and Ezra Stickles, entered God’s Kingdom peacefully March 30, 2015.
She was born November 13, 1922 and grew up in the Town of Chatham.
She retired from Albany International Corp. with the title of office manager after more than 40 years of service.
Ms. Stickles was the beloved mother of the late Sandra Link.
She is survived by: two siblings, Edna Dugan of Hudson and Rose Klima of Kentucky. She was the beloved aunt and “adopted mother” to Linda Adams (beloved husband Howard Adams); great-niece, Christine Genito and her children Brittany and Sage Herson; great nephew, James Genito (beloved wife Amy) and their children Rachel and Emma Genito.
She is also survived by special niece, Lori Collins (beloved husband Brian Collins) and their children Abigail and Zachary; nieces, Patricia Lucas and Audean Gagliardy; nephew, Joseph Klima (beloved wife Beverly) and special cousin, Rick Moran.
Ms. Stickle was a free-spirited individual who loved life and people. She had a heart of gold, always ready to help others, participating in volunteer activities and donating to the poor and needy. Her family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the Greenbush Reformed Church, friends for their prayers and special thanks to her good friend, Betty Gaynor, and family friend, Terry Duncan.
Special thanks go to the Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy and staff. Ms. Stickles loved everyone at the manor and she received the best of care.
