Deborah Ann Zyryi (1956 – 2015)

STOTTVILLE—Deborah Ann Zyryi of Stottville passed peacefully in her home, May 7, 2015 at the age of 58.

She was born June 30, 1956 in Albany, the daughter of Bernice Christian and the late Oscar F. Christian.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family, giving all.

On February 6, 1972 in Hudson at St. Mary’s Church, she married William Thomas Zyryi, who survives her at home in Stottville.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by: her children, William T. Zyryi, Jr., Kenneth A. Zyryi, Eric P. Zyryi, Suzanne R. Zyryi and Phillip J. Zyryi; her siblings, Denice Howard, the late Barbara Yates, Linda Yates and Timothy Christian and 10 grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to a memorial service in her honor Sunday, May 17, 2015, 2 p.m. at God’s Little Campground, 139 George Road, Ghent.

Ozella “Zell” Aiken (1924 – 2015)

LIVINGSTON—Ozella “Zell” Aiken, 90, a resident of Livingston Hills Nursing Center and formerly of Rensselaer, died May 9, 2015 at Livingston Hills.

Born November 30, 1924 in Hominy, OK, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson and Alberta (Sinor) Key. Mrs. Aiken was a homemaker.

She is survived by: three children, Maureen A. Munro of Lincoln, CA, Susan D. Dazio Forrest of Hyde Park and Thomas E. “Ned” Aiken of Sanford, FL; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Padavana, Jennifer Lomanto, Stephen Munro, Nicholas, Jason and Amy Dazio, and Donna Nicole Aiken; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Gigi Padavana and Skyler and Joshua Lomanto

She was predeceased by her husband, Lt. Col. Thomas E. Aiken, Jr., and four siblings, Dorothy Smith, Estelle, Clarence and Robert Key.

Funeral arrangements and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. The family thanks the staff on the south unit of Livingston Hills for all their care and compassion.

Neal Rideout (1942 – 2015)

HUDSON—Neal Rideout, 72, of South Cairo died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born November 5, 1942 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Arthur and Jessie (Toole) Rideout.

He had worked for Smith Commercial Tire Service in Hudson, had worked at Taconic Farms in Germantown and more recently was a school bus driver for Pat Zanchelli Inc., in Germantown.

Mr. Rideout was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as camping.

Survivors include: his wife Barbara; three sons, Kevin Rideout, Kenneth Rideout and Paul Rideout; four daughters, Michele, Rebecca, Renee and Rochelle; one brother, Al Kastner; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 15, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

Caitlin Marie Briggs (1990 – 2015)

GERMANTOWN—Caitlin Marie Briggs, 24, of Livingston died May 11 of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash on State Route 9G, May 11.

“He only takes the best!” She lived life, she would stop a car to help a turtle cross the road. Fearless, adventurous, always up for a prank or two, she would give her last dollar to help someone in need. It was always a surprise what animal she would bring home to be nursed back to health. She had a smile so bright and a laugh so contagious that happiness surrounded her every step in life.

She was born October 27, 1990 in Rhinebeck. She graduated from Germantown Central School in 2009 and graduated Castleton State College in 2014. She worked at Columbia Memorial Hospital Chatham Family Practice and Whittier Rehabilitation and Care Center.

She was the: beloved daughter of Debra A. (Frank) Maguire of Livingston and Thomas (Vicki) Briggs of Tillson; loving sister of Kristin (Bas White) Allard, Cortny Briggs, Thomas Maguire and Cody Sudziarski; fiancée of Shane Stewart of Greenport “and their furbabies,” Coop-Coop and multiple other four-legged creatures.

She was Aunt KK to her two nieces Giavanna and Londyn White; cherished granddaughter of Gordon and the late Marcella Briggs of Rhinebeck, Sarah Virtuoso of Livingston, the late Frank J. Maguire of Hudson and niece to her late uncle, Albert Hackbarth.

She loved all of mankind and all of God’s creatures but the love for her sisters and brothers and nieces was beyond measure. Her family, both blood and adopted were her life.

“Heaven will be a much brighter place. Godspeed Caty. You leave behind a heartbroken world.”

Calling hours will be Thursday, May 14, 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown. Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating.

Vern Andrews (1924 – 2015)

GERMANTOWN—Vern “Dick” Andrews, 90, went to be with the Lord, May 10, 2015, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

He was born in Hudson, July 2, 1924 and married Shirley Schuler Andrews, December 15, 1946.

They resided in Germantown, where they raised their three children.

Mr. Andrews owned The Floweld Company. They resided in Florida for more than 30 years before Mr. Andrews spent his last days closer to family back home in New York.

The most important thing in his life were his wife and family. He is survived by: three children, Andrea Brenkach and Debra Bentley of Germantown and William Andrews of State College, PA. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives in Florida.

Mr. Andrews was known by his friends and family for his friendly, fun-loving and caring disposition. “He will be dearly missed by all, but the family celebrates the fact that he is now at peace in heaven with his Lord and Savior.”
