Denise Ann Hughes (1970 – 2015)

Denise Ann Hughes, age 45, entered into the eternal glory of God August 13, 2015.

She is survived by: her husband, Michael Floyd of Greenville, SC; her son, Jesse Hughes and his partner, Olivia Zagoya; her grandson, Jezirae Munoz of Pine Bush; her daughter, Bethany Hughes and her partner Eric of Brunswick, GA; her parents, William and Marlene Sigler of Saugerties; her brother and her sister-in-law, William and Susan Sigler of Winchester, VA; her sister, Christina Payne and her partner, Richard Kretschmer of Saugerties; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ms. Hughes was born July 7, 1970 in Poughkeepsie. A 1988 graduate of Rhinebeck High School, she began a career in the U.S. Navy as a still photojournalist. Ending her career in 1996 with the U.S. Navy, Ms. Hughes began her career in media consulting with focus on advocating for the poor. With a global worldview, she emphasized education and justice for all of humanity. Many campaigns had the privilege of having her cultivating ideas manifested into reality. Microcredit summit campaign, RESULTS, and Global AIDS Alliance are a few.

Colorful and vibrant she radiated through this world. Her energy will be missed.

Calling hours will be held Friday, August 21, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown. Services will be 11am Saturday, August 22, 11 a.m. at the Reformed Church of Germantown, 20 Church Avenue, Germantown.

Private cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.

Roseanna M. McClellan (1931 – 2015)

VALATIE—Roseanna M. McClellan, 83, a resident of Barnwell Health Facilities, died there Friday, August 14, 2015.

Born September 26, 1931 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Myers) Jostlen. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: her husband, Jack McClellan; children, Ann, Fred, Penny, Sheila, Vickie, Dusty, Theresa and Gail. She was also survived by several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.

Donald R. Johnson (1941 – 2015)

RHINEBECK—Donald R. Johnson, 74, of Milan died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Born January 27, 1941 in Pine Plains, he was the son of the late Henry and Mildred (Brizzie) Rockefeller.

On July, 2, 1962, in Pine Plains, he married Pamela (“Penny”) Griffin.

An avid NASCAR fan and a stock car driver, he raced his car, #199, at Accord, Lebanon, Rhinebeck and Middletown. He also liked to hunt and he especially loved to be with his family.

During his career, he worked in construction, for the New York Archdiocese in Rhinecliff and at the Devereux Foundation in Red Hook.

In addition to his loving wife, Penny, of Milan, he is survived by: his three children, Theresa (William) Anders of Englewood, FL, Donna Johnson of Milan and Donald H. (Annemarie) Johnson of Milan; a sister, Augusta Ingleson of Clinton Corners; his grandchildren, Krystle (Brian) James and Travis (Mary) Lopez; his great-grandchildren, Ryan Coons, Madison Coons, Tyler Coons, Cody James and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, LeRoy Johnson and a grandson, Donald Jay (D.J.) Coons.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 25, 11 a.m. at Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 South Broadway, Red Hook. The Reverend William Starkweather will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook. Friends may call at the funeral home, Monday, August 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Ginette A. Maure (1930 – 2015)

SPRINGFIELD, MA—Ginette A. Maure, 84, of Canaan died Sunday, August 16 at Bay State Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born September 5, 1930 in Paris, France, the daughter of the late Marius and Marie (Garconnet) Bellier. In November 1956, she married her beloved husband, the late Claude J. Maure (1985).

During their 29 years together they built a home and life on Queechy Lake, operating or acting as chefs at several restaurants in the area such as the Stony Kill and Depot 22. In her later years, Mrs. Maure was a private person that loved gardening, feeding the birds and being with old friends. She was especially fond of the weekly social lunch gatherings at the town hall with the senior citizens group. She is survived by: her sister, Norma Ponard and niece, Valerie McFarland.

A calling hour will be held Saturday, August 22, 10 to 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral at the Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Avenue, Chatham.

Barbara Friss (1947 – 2015)

ALBANY—Barbara J. Friss, 68, of Ghent passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn with her family at her side August 17, 2015.

Born to the late David and Ruth O’Donnell February 18, 1947 in Albany, she was married in 1964 to her first husband, Richard Gardella, who predeceased her after 27 years of marriage.

She is survived by: her beloved husband of 21 years, Gary R. Friss; two sons, Richard (Gail) Gardella, Jr., of New Mexico and Randy (Dawn) Gardella of Hillsdale; two daughters, Anita (Brian) Lossow of East Chatham and Melissa Radley of Ghent; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Peter O’Donnell of NC; and best friend of 50 years, Monica Lippera. She was predeceased by her older sister, Mary Gardella and brother, David O’Donnell.

She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, nanny and friend. Her contagious smile and hard work ethic will be remembered by many who knew her from the Italian Delight Restaurant and Lagonia’s Fire Hill Inn.

Her commitment and passion was to her family. A perfect day could be spent gardening at her home in Ghent followed by a good glass of wine while playing poker with her family or embracing the beauty of the beach with her husband and children.

A celebration of her life will be held in a private ceremony by her immediate family. Donations in Mrs. Friss’ memory may be made to the Community Hospice Inn, 295 Valley View Boulevard, Rensselaer 12144.

Patricia Ann Decker (1980 – 2015)

HUDSON—Patricia Ann Decker, 35, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born February 25, 1980, she was the daughter of Kichon Decker of Greenport and the late Everett Decker, who died in 2013.

Ms. Decker is survived by: her son, Tyler Durfee and one sister, Rose Ann Decker of Greenport.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 6 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport with Pastor Stanley Webster officiating.
