Green Party meets on Saturday

HUDSON – The Green Party of Columbia County will hold their first formal meeting on September 26 at 10 a.m. at Time and Space Limited, 434 Columbia Street. There will be a brief presentation by the NYS Green Party Organizer and a discussion of proposed activities, project, and recruitment.

The meeting will also ratify affiliation with the NYS Greens. The release from the party says that Green Party supports grassroots democracy in the political and economic spheres, protection of the environment, increased wages for ordinary Americans, shifting the burden of taxation to the wealthy and corporations, the rights of workers to unionize, reduced military spending and an end to US military involvement abroad, an end to illegal electronic surveillance, and respect, equality and justice for racial gender, and other diverse groups.
