Alice Mary Simone (1922 – 2015)

EAST GREENBUSH—Alice Mary Simone, 93, of Stuyvesant Falls passed away peacefully at Evergreen Commons, November 20, 2015 after a long and happy life.

Born May 14, 1922 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Crispino.

During World War II she was a welder at Gifford-Wood in Hudson. She and her late husband of 59 years, Peter, owned and operated the Glencadia Inn & Restaurant, catering to clambakes, banquets and weddings.

She is most admired and remembered for touching the lives of all with her truly beautiful and living free spirit personality.

She is survived by: a daughter, Regina Mate of East Greenbush; two sisters, Sylivia Greene of Sanford, FL, and Rose Newland of Red Hook.

She was the very proud grandmother of Richard and Michelle Slovak, Robert and Nicole Fisher, Peter and Renee Grzeskow and Stephen and Camille Dardos; six great-grandchildren, Mason and Madson Slovak, Colby and Colin Fisher and Maeya and Gabriel Grzeskow; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: her daughter, Pamela Kardos; her son, Peter Simone; her sons-in-law, Benjamin Mate and Steve Kardos; her siblings, Jimmy, Joe and Dominick Crispino, Adeline Yarochuck and Mary Connors.

All are welcome to celebrate a Memorial Mass at the Catholic Church of St. Joseph, 1820 Route 9, Stuyvesant Falls, Friday, November 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. Prior to the Mass, all are invited to gather for refreshments (finger- entrees) starting at 9 a.m. Following the Mass, a private family interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Stuyvesant Falls.

Contributions in Mrs. Simone’s memory may be made to the Church of St. Joseph, 1820 Route 9, Stuyvesant Falls 12174. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.

Alexander A. Johnson (1961 – 2015)

ALBANY—Alexander A. Johnson, 54, of Hudson died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Born November 4, 1961 in Hudson, he was the son of Pauline A. (Cobbins) Raggs of Hudson and the late Lloyd A. Raggs.

Mr. Johnson was a hairdresser for many years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by: nieces and nephew, Hope G. Raggs (Monirul) of Rensselaer, Siomonia (Shawn) Pollack of Lansingburg, Stefan Raggs of Chatham, Quanshana Raggs of Albany and Lateece Denson of Rensselaer. He was predeceased by his sister, Regina M. Raggs in 2013.

Visiting hours and funeral prayers were held at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport, November 23. Burial followed in Linlithgo Cemetery.
