Robert B. Windhorst (1925 – 2015)
HUDSON—Robert “Bob” B. Windhorst, 90, of Greenport passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 13, 1925 in Brooklyn to the late Henry and Anna Windhorst.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Sixth Division gunners mate third class aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey during World War II.
Mr. Windhorst was an owner/partner of Bob’s Service Center in Craryville and drove bus for the Taconic Hills Central School District for 33 years. He was a former owner of the Holiday House Motel in Hillsdale, Aud’s Western Store in Hillsdale and worked for the Long Island Lighting Company. He was a member of the Cadby-Shutts VFW Post and an instructor for the Hicksville Police Boys Club Nautical Cadets.
Surviving are: his son, Robert (Lynn) Windhorst; two grandsons, Robert (Stephanie) Windhorst, Jr., and Anthony Windhorst; his great-grandson, Jameson and his sister, Jean (Ed) Borgnaes.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Audrey Windhorst and two brothers, Ray and Hank.
Calling hours are Thursday, December 3, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 4, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery in Claverack.

Keith Steltz (1926 – 2015)
VALATIE—Keith Steltz of Chatham passed away December 1, 2015 at the Barnwell Nursing Home after a long illness. Born July 28, 1926 in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of Robert and Esther Steltz.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated in June 1944 and went directly to the induction center in Tampa, FL. After leaving the Navy in 1947 he went to work for the New York Central where he worked as a switch operator until the late 1960s. From there Mr. Steltz went on to work at Crellin Plastics for 18 years until his retirement.
He loved the railroad and would spend a lot of time just watching the trains come and go. He enjoyed high school sports and little league. He also liked watching his son coach. He was a religious man and found peace in his time spent at the Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his son, Scott (Shannon) Steltz of Valatie; his grandchildren, Cooper, Brayden and Laney.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Russell and his sister, Alice.

John Paul Keeler (1927 – 2015)
CLAVERACK—John Paul Keeler of Claverack passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the age of 88.
He was born in Brooklyn, April 19, 1927, to John and Helen (Kennelly) Keeler.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Keeler was married for 58 years to the late Eileen Keeler who was the love of his life.
He began singing in Brooklyn as a child, was a gifted boy soprano, studied opera throughout his youth and sang opera and oratorio until an advanced age. He worked for Prudential for 29 years, until his passion for all things art related resulted in him finding his true calling as an art and music critic. He was an art and classical music aficionado.
Mr. Keeler embraced life with great gusto and was blessed with a high intellect, charm, wit, a great sense of humor and a kind loving personality that touched all those who were blessed to know him. As a devout Christian he lived an extremely full life with countless close friends and family to whom he was dedicated.
He is survived by: his adoring four daughters, Ellen Keeler, Susan Cannatella, Katie Keeler and Maura Keeler; six grandchildren, Alessandra, Wilson, Wesley, Angela, Trevor and Dimitrius; two great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Adrina; many cousins, relatives and countless friends whom he cherished.
There will be a memorial service in the spring for family and friends to honor “this truly amazing one of a kind treasure who will be missed.” Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to The Alzheimer’s Association.

Margaret I. Lutz (1920 – 2015)
RHINEBECK—Margaret I. Lutz, 95, of Germantown died November 26, 2015 at the Baptist Home at Brookmeade.
Born October 2, 1920 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Fleming) Ames.
Prior to her retirement she worked for more than 45 years as a supervisor with the pharmaceutical firm of Burrows & Wellcom in Tuckahoe.
She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Robin Lutz, Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa Lutz; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Anderson, Ethan and Julia Vallani and Kristen Green.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Lutz, Sr. who died December 15, 2003.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be graveside at the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, Wednesday, December 2 at 1 p.m.
