Robert F. Jette (1943 – 2016)

ALBANY—Robert F. Jette of Kinderhook died February 5, 2016.

He was born November 3, 1943 in Adams, MA.

He attended the former Notre Dame School and graduated from Adams Memorial High School in 1961. He received an associate’s degree from Berkshire Community College in 1963. He then joined the U.S. Air Force. He served four years at KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan as a weapons control system mechanic, achieving the rank of sergeant. He completed his education, graduating from the former North Adams State College with a degree in finance.

Mr. Jette served as accountant at Petricca Construction before joining the finance department at North Adams Regional Hospital. He also served as financial comptroller at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton and Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, from where he retired in 2012.

Mr. Jette was a 44-year member of the Adams Lions Club serving as president 1983 to 1984 and was an avid skier who loved to be out early for first runs. He was an enthusiastic hiker and climbed Mount Greylock many times. He was a frustrated golfer, but always stuck with it. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and travelling. One of his favorite hobbies was watching collegiate basketball and he was a huge Sienna fan.

He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Jette and his parents, Felix and Lucille (Marcil) Jette.

He is survived by: his wife, Jacqueline Dupuis Jette; his daughter, Lisa Ryan (Michael); grandchildren, Nicholas and Madison Ryan; and a niece, Krista Huggins of Sunrise, FL.

Calling hours will be held Monday, February 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Further calling hours will be at St. John Paul II Church in Adams, MA, Tuesday, February 9 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Linda Boll (1947 – 2016)

NIVERVILLE–Linda A. Boll, 68, of Niverville passed away February 6, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Boll was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. In addition, she was her husband’s partner of more than 40 years in running the family excavating business.

She also loved to work with children. She worked at Holy Spirit School and most recently supported her daughter, Charlie and son-in-law, Cam, at North Pointe Pre-K.

For nearly 50 years, she was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Valatie. She was an avid sports fan and is still rooting for the Knicks and the Yankees.

She is survived by: her husband, Robert J. Boll, Jr.; her children, Robert J. Boll, III, (Sara), Jennifer M. Boll (John Antalek), Charlie Slemp (Cam) and her grandchildren, Cameron Boll (Rebecca), Heather Dormady, Jordan Dormady, Robert J. Boll, IV, Samuel Antalek, Jack Antalek and Henry Antalek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 10, 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Route 9, Valatie. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.

Dorothy Oakley (1935 – 2016)

HUDSON—Dorothy Oakley, 80, of Philmont went home to the lord Friday, February 5, 2016 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in the loving company of her family.

Born in New York City July 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie James.

Mrs. Oakley was an enthusiastic bingo player and loved playing cards and doing puzzles. She was a devoted homemaker and also was a cook at Coarc in Mellenville for several years.

She will be greatly missed by: her children including sons, Bruce (Linda) Oakley of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald (Mary) Oakley of Philmont; daughters, Margaret Gannon of Latham, Doreen Oakley of Ghent, Dolores (Jeffrey) Winters of Purling, Patricia (Richard) Klein of Philmont; many loving grand- and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1970, as well as her son, Eric who died in 1995, and a baby daughter, Carolyne in 1965.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. At 1 p.m. during the visiting, Father Winston Bath will officiate at funeral services. She will be laid to rest with her son, Eric at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Philmont in the spring.
