Deborah A. Simonsmeier (1950 – 2016)

ALBANY—Deborah A. Simonsmeier, 65, of Kinderhook died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn.

Born November 1, 1950 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (Williams) Pardee.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Simonsmeier was serving as director of constituent services for Senator Kathy Marchione (R-43rd) in Albany. She was retired from the Ichabod Crane Central School and was the co-owner of Wild Horse Wine and Liquors in Valatie. She also worked as a nurse in several New York State locations. She was a current member of the Kinderhook Town Board, a lifetime member of the Valatie Rescue Squad and an active member of the community.

She is survived by: her husband, Walter Simonsmeier; five children, Neely Jennings (Sean) of Kinderhook, Stephanie Valentine (Fred) of Castleton, Jake Simonsmeier (Michelle) of

Arkansas; John Blasi (Sarah) of Kinderhook and Matthew Simonsmeier of Valatie; a sister, Judy Greco of Valatie; a brother, Charles Pardee of Florida; eight grandchildren, Morgan and Wayne Herrle Jr., Callie Jennings, Lena and Thalia Simonsmeier, Noah Simonsmeier, Kaden and Graidy Blasi; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Lena Simonsmeier.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 10 a.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, with Deacon Rick Washburn officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, April 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Valatie Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 242, Valatie 12184.

Rheka “Jessie” Andrews (1909 – 2016)

PHILMONT—Rheka “Jessie” Andrews, 106, of Stottville and Greenport, died Monday, April 11, 2016 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.

Born April 16, 1909 in Newton Hook, she was the daughter of Frank A. and Josephine (Manchuck) Wolfe.

Mrs. Andrews was a beautician, and owner and operator of J & A Beauty Shop for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Greenport Senior Citizens, the Stottville VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish, Holy Family Church.

Mrs. Andrews is survived by: three nieces, Norma Barnard, Marjorie Tanzillo and Geraldine Doss; four nephews, Alan Wolfe, David Wolfe, George Wolfe and Paul Wolfe; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Kenneth Andrews; three sisters, Agnes Hamm, Anna Mieske and Mary Yerrick; four brothers, Walter, John, Charles and George Wolfe.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 13, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish, Holy Family Church, Atlantic Avenue in Stottville. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Anna Carlson Fata (1929 – 2016)

PARK CITY, UT—Anna “Ann” Carlson Fata, 87, of Elizaville died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at home in Park City, Utah.

She was born January 7, 1929 in Mt. Vernon to Anna and Carl Carlson.

She spent her school years in Valhalla before marrying the

late Carl Fata. Mr. Fata was from White Plains and the couple lived there until moving to Somers in 1968.

While raising their three daughters, Mrs. Fata was employed by the Hartford Insurance Company in Mt. Kisco as a transcription secretary for more than 10 years before

retiring to Elizaville in 1985.

Mrs. Fata will be remembered for her thoughtful, caring, giving and loving ways; also as the “Best Mom ever!”

She is survived by: her three daughters, Ruth (Scott) Call and Karen (Bill) Gibbs of Park City, UT, and Lorrie (Dan) Schmidt of Monticello; and four grandchildren, Allie Call, Paige Gibbs, Kyle and Karl Schmidt.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m. at the Elizaville Methodist Church Cemetery, 740 Route 2 in Elizaville, with an open house to honor her life to follow at the adjoining church hall.

Anna Kulls (1921 – 2016)

LIVINGSTON—Anna Kulls, 95, of Elizaville passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Livingston Hills Nursing Center.

Born March 1, 1921 in Austria, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Theresa (Hanzel) Haselbacher.

For more than 30 years and until her retirement, she was a loan officer and teller with Chemical Bank in New York City.

Ms. Kulls was a parishioner of former Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Taghkanic.

She is survived by: her son, William Kulls and his wife Jennifer of Middletown; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Kulls of White Plains; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Kulls of Bethlehem, PA, Jamie Kulls of Wilkes Barre, PA, and Kristen Bruinix of Middletown; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Robert Kulls and her brother, Frank Haselbacher

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 South Broadway, Red Hook, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held April 14, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook. Burial will be the family plot at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.

Antoinette Gentile (1927 – 2016)

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Antoinette Gentile of Davie, FL, formerly of Hudson, died peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Florida Medical Center.

Born in Hudson October 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Dimitri and Mary Gurny.

Mrs. Gentile was a graduate of Hudson High School and was a sewing machine operator for the former Kadin Bros. in Hudson.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family including: her son, Francis Gentile of Davie, FL; her daughter, MaryAnn Dodd of Valatie; brother, Stephen and (Caroline) Gurny of Claverack; grandchildren,Tristan Gentile and her husband Donald Lauman of Davie, FL, Megan and Mike Klugo of East Greenbush, James Dodd and his wife Allison Rich of Niskayuna; one great-granddaughter, Ella Klugo; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Francis V. Gentile in 1978. She was also predeceased by brothers and sisters: John Zukowski, Rose Krasnaborsky, Anna Tiano, Metro Gurny, Stella Kelley and Catherine VanDenburg.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Memorial prayers will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. John Jedrychowski of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. Burial follows at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson.
