OBITUARIES: Dixon, Shore-VanderSchaaff

Philomena C. Dixon

HUDSON—Philomena C. (Grandinetti) Dixon, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died Thursday, May 12, 2016.

She was the daughter of Angelo and Rose (Bucci) Grandinetti; beloved wife of the late Robert C. Dixon (loving husband of 58 years and closest friend of 64); dear mother of Rosemary (Larry) Brown, Robert C. (Martha) Dixon, III, James G. (Kelly) Dixon, and Mark J. (Laura) Dixon; dear grandmother of the late Robert IV, Mary, Edward, Elizabeth, Christopher, Michael, David, Matthew and Jonathon; dear aunt, cousin, in-law and friend of many.

She worked for the Veteran’s Administration during early marriage years while her husband, served time in the Navy. The majority of her years were spent as a homemaker and consummate supporter of her children’s various activities. Like her mother, Mrs. Dixon placed her family first and herself second, never wanting more than what was needed, never asking for more than what was necessary.

Driven by a strong sense of responsibility to their family, Mr. and Mrs. Dixon always wanted to provide for their children and set them on a path to their own success and independence.

Now reunited, may they both rest in peace together knowing that their support and guidance leaves all four children living happy and healthy lives in their memory.

She will now rest alongside her husband; parents; brother, John and the many other friends and relatives in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson, while also residing in some small way at her homes in Huntleigh, MO, and Rockport, MA.
