Marjorie M. Boothby (1932 – 2016)

ANCRAM—Marjorie M. Boothby, 83, of Ancram passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016.

She was born May 27, 1932 in Hudson, the daughter of Guy A. Boice and Edna Louck-Boice.

After graduating from Roeliff Jansen Central School in 1949 she worked for the Copake Telephone Company and IBM.

Mrs. Boothby was predeceased by her husband, Robert Boothby.

She is survived by: her daughter, Kathleen (William) Hunt of Ancram; a son, George (Amy) Boothby of Kinderhook; a brother, John (Pat) Boice of Millerton; her sister-in-law, Mary Faith Boice; a stepdaughter, Beverly Hendrickson of Warrington, PA; grandchildren, William “Topher” (Jamie) Hunt, Stewart (Stephanie) Hunt, Hillary Boothby and Abby Boothby; great-grandchildren, Joshua Perrier and Emily Christina Hunt; several nephews, nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Boothby was a homemaker for several years and then worked at the Pepe’s Tavern, the Ancram Paper Mill and for Columbia County at 401 State Street, Hudson.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, past secretary for the Union Cemetery Association and a life-member of the Ancram Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Boothby enjoyed reading, crocheting and was a tag sale junkie.

She also enjoyed traveling with her friends over the years throughout the country.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram, with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Ancram.

Phyllis L. Grau (1933 – 2016)

CLAVERACK—Phyllis L. Grau, 83, of Claverack, formerly of Philmont and Winter Park Florida, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at her home.

Born in Greenport January 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Minnie (Coons) Murphy.

Mrs. Grau was employed with Olsten Health Care Services in Maitland, FL. for many years. She was an EMT with the Village of Philmont and also trained rescue squad personnel.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family including: sons, Kevin (Debora) Grau of Philmont, Dean (Leeann) Grau of Claverack; daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Ingham of Philmont, Vanessa (Jack) Matteis of Greenport, Terry (Robert) White of Casselberry, FL; one brother, Donald (Bonita) Murphy of Wallingford, CT; one sister, Judith Ann Decker of Hudson; grandchildren, Kevin Charles, Eric Alan, Melissa Anne, Jeremy, Janelle, Jenna and Dakota Lee; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Killian, Bentley, Mason, Grace, Alex, Letty and Landyn.

Mrs. Grau was predeceased by her beloved husband, George F. Grau, April 2, 2008; also predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Charles; grandchildren, Brian and Aimee; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Michael Parker; many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral prayers will be said Wednesday, May 18, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Coddington officiating. Burial will be in Mellenville Union Cemetery.
