Jeffrey H. Darling (1953 – 2016)

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—Jeffrey H. Darling, 63, passed peacefully Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Fairview Hospital.

He was born February 6, 1953 in Mount Kisco, a son of the late Albert J. “Chuck” and Marjorie (Kemp) Darling.

He was employed for more than 32 years as the deputy highway superintendent for the Town of Copake until his retirement in 2008. He also enjoyed working on the family farm.

An outdoorsman, Mr. Darling was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known to enjoy spending time on Copake Lake.

Survivors include: his wife, Melissa Darling; a son, Jeffrey Darling, II, and his siblings, David Darling, Mark Darling, Matthew Darling, Nancy Spano and Tony Darling.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Darling.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Craryville Rod and Gun Club, County Route 11 in Craryville.

Helen F. Pinkowski (1927 – 2016)

HUDSON—Helen F. Pinkowski, 88, of Stuyvesant died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born November 25, 1927 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Grace (Fritzchie) Fowler.

Mrs. Pinkowski was a counselor at a downstate girls school and also worked at Rielly Mills in Valatie.

She raised Weimaraners with her sister Dorothy for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ron Pinkowski; her sister, Dorothy Fowler and dog, Tawny.

Graveside services in Kinderhook Cemetery will be private. There will be no calling hours.

Evelyn M. Lauria (1934 – 2016)

HUDSON—Evelyn M. Lauria, 81, of Ghent passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 25, 1934 in Pine Plains, the daughter of the late Lionel H. and Ruth E. (McGill) Summers.

She was a professional dancer.

Survivors include: her son, Michael Keesler of Hudson; two daughters, Terry Lauria-Whalen of North Babylon, LI, and Tina Donenfeld of Ghent; a brother, Craig Summers of Millerton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are Sunday, July 24, 2016, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 2016, 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Fr. Fred Cartier, officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.

Andrea N. Dennis (1972 – 2016)

HUDSON—Andrea Nicole Dennis, 44, of Copake passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Hudson, June 17, 1972, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sharon (Fitch) Brown.

She was a graduate of Taconic Hills Central School and attended both Pace University and Columbia-Greene Community College.

She was a valued and dedicated employee of Ski Butternut for more than 17 years serving as business manager.

Ms. Dennis was a member of the Copake United Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening and playing the piano. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and her family.

Survivors include: her children, Madeleine Dennis and Benjamin Dennis, along with their father Frederick, all of Philmont. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Jill Brown of Mill Valley, CA; her paternal grandmother, Bernice Bussett of West Copake and a great-aunt, Barbara Gobillot of West Copake.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016, 11 a.m. from the Copake United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Rogers officiating.

Calling hours are private.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Copake Cemetery.
