Charlotte V. Shook (1931 – 2016)

NORTH GREENBUSH—Charlotte V. Shook, 84, formerly of Germantown, died August 8, 2016 at the Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born September 3, 1931 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Caroline (Sharp) Westover.

Surviving are: her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Thomas Sage of Schaghticoke and son, Leslie Fingar of Livingston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 2010.

Graveside funeral services will take place Saturday, August 13, 10 a.m. at the Livingston Cemetery.

Nancy C. Broe (1947 – 2016)

ANCRAMDALE—Nancy C. Broe of Ancramdale passed away August 6, 2016.

She was a wife, mother, soulmate and world class “Nana.”

She was born February 11, 1947 in Poughkeepsie to Earl Convery and Mary Banick Convery.

She is survived by: her husband, Bill Broe; her daughter, Daniele Fiore; grandson, Kameron; her brother, Keith Convery and his wife Marylou; four nephews; one niece; several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Karen Trezza and her parents.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 10, noon at the family’s farm in Ancramdale. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 Acct.# 10585266. Arrangements are with the Peck and Peck Funeral Home.

Ruth M. Mead (1920 – 2016)

RED HOOK—Ruth M. Mead, 96, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Born June 6, 1920 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late August D. and Martha (Goetz) Hoss.

She married William S. Mead, Sr., January 24, 1948 in Red Hook. He predeceased her February 14, 2002.

She resided in Hyde Park for more than 51 years, then moved to an assisted living residence in Poughkeepsie, and later into the nursing home.

Mrs. Mead was a member Faith Assembly of God Church in Poughkeepsie for more than 45 years and she served for many years as a Sunday school teacher and rainbow teacher.

Mrs. Mead was also active in the church choir and music was special to her ministry. Piano was her passion. Making melodies to the Lord brought her joy.

She is survived by her loving family, including: her three daughters, Helen (Joe) Pataro of Poughkeepsie, Gertrude (John) Balog of Raleigh, NC, and Doris (Gary) Werbil of Raleigh, NC; her son, William (Leila) S. Mead, Jr., of Germantown; her brother, Gerhard (Inge) Hoss of Red Hook; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extend family.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Hoss, Dorothy Cookingham, Mildred Stutzbach, Rosemarie Coons, and Wesley Hoss.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 South Broadway, Red Hook, Friday, August 12, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hook. Procession to the cemetery will form at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13 at the Faith Assembly Of God Church, 254 Spackenkill Road, Poughkeepsie. The Reverend Edward Jones will officiate.
