Clayton Powell, Jr. (1943 – 2016)
STUYVESANT—Clayton W. Powell, Jr., 73, of Stuyvesant died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home.
Born July 16, 1943 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Clayton W. and Elizabeth (Hamm) Powell, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war and was a New York State trooper from 1975 until 2001 working out of Troop T on the New York State Thruway. He was an avid New York Jets and New York Mets fan.
He is survived by: two sons, David Powell of Albany and Darrin Powell of Colonie and his close friends, Kirk and Tanya Underwood. He was predeceased by his brother, Keith Powell.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, September 30, noon at Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New York State Trooper Foundation, 3 Airport Boulevard, Latham 12110-1441.
Robert Minners (1950 – 2016)
ALBANY—Robert “Bobby” A. Minners of Hudson peacefully ended his life’s journey September 25, 2016 at St Peter’s Hospice Inn.
He was born April 8, 1950 in the Bronx to the late John and Helen Minners.
Mr. Minners is survived by: his wife, Diana; daughters, Jenny (Greg) Minners, Jessica (David) Hess, Sheila (David) Zito, Kelli (Paul) Michalko and Bonnie (Kym) Lynch: 12 grandchildren; his sisters, Pauline and Dorothy Minners; brothers, John (Deb) and Peter (Kristina) Minners; mother-in-law, Suzette Mentavlos; sisters-in-law, Mary (John) Wardell, Connie (Joseph) Mastroni and Dorothy (Lou) Spraque; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring, Saturday, October 1 at noon. Visitation hours are Friday, September 30 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 from the Bates & Anderson Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.

Hazel M. Murray (1926 – 2016)
HUDSON—Hazel Martha Murray, 89, of Hudson died September 21, 2016.
She was born October 8, 1926 to Carrie Fulton and Thomas Wright in Pineville, SC.
She received her formal education in Pineville at J.K. Gadine School. She relocated to Hudson in 1952. She was employed at the New York State Training School for Girls and the Whitney Young Center in Albany.
Ms. Murray was an active member of the Shiloh Baptist Church where she united under the Pastor W.J. Allen. She served in the choir, Women’s Ministry and the Culinary committee.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons; daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two goddaughters; one godson; two sisters; one devoted niece and a host of other family and friends.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 14 Warren Street, Hudson. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. at church with the Reverend Ronald Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery.
