OBITUARIES: Holsapple, Leonardson, Grega

Joan E. Holsapple (1932 – 2016)

GUILDERLAND—Joan E. Holsapple, 84, of Chatham died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at The Grand at Guilderland.

Born January 24, 1932 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Edgar J. and Helen E. (McNally) Aussem.

Mrs. Holsapple was an administrative assistant for BOCES in Schodack and a clerk with the New York State Department of Audit and Control in Albany. She was a past member of the Kindercrafters, the North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary and St. John’s Elves. She was a member of the Tri-Village Seniors and was an assistant Girl Scout leader for a time. She enjoyed her friends at High Point, playing cards, camping and traveling, especially with her husband. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild.

She is survived by: two daughters, Brenda J. Rossman (William) of Delmar and Kathleen J. Stevens of North Chatham; a sister, Lois Reynolds of Clifton Park; four grandchildren, Theresa M. Van Valkenburg (Joseph), Tara S. Rossman, Brandon Baccaro and Ian Coons; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Holsapple.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, noon at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, with the Reverend George Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Calling hours are on Tuesday, December 13 from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbia County Health Care Consortium, 325 Columbia Street, Hudson 12534.

William M. Leonardson (1948 – 2016)

ALBANY—William Murray Leonardson, 68, of Albany and formerly of Kinderhook died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Albany County Nursing Home after a long Illness.

Born August 27, 1948 in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Axel William and Annette (Metzner) Leonardson.

Mr. Leonardson was a US Army veteran and a 1966 graduate of Ichabod Crane High School. He attended Wheaton College, the Junior College of Albany and Barrington College. He graduated from Syracuse University and earned his master’s degree in economics from SUNY Albany. He was a site representative for Charles Barrow Consulting Engineer, a sales associate for Montgomery Ward in Albany, a security guard for Burns Security in Albany and a registered representative for First Investors Corp. in Albany. He was a member of the Kinderhook Reformed Church and the Consistory.

He is survived by his brother, John Leonardson (Angella Pace) of Hudson and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 10 a.m. at the Kinderhook Reformed Church with the Reverend Rudy Visser officiating. Burial will follow in Kinderhook Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.

Sandra J. Grega (1943 – 2016)

ALBANY—Sandra J. Grega, 73, a resident of the Albany County Nursing Home died Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Born February 26, 1943 in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Abel and Julia (Ruby) Grega.

Ms. Grega worked at the City Clerk’s office in Hudson for a time.

She has no survivors.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
