Marie Louise Raitz (1930 – 2017)

SHARON, CT—Marie Louise Raitz, age 86, of Ancram, formerly of Long Island passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Sharon Health Care Center.

She was born September 28, 1930 in Staten Island, a daughter of Lemert Q. and Aagot (Barman) Wilbur.

Mrs. Raitz was employed as a legal secretary for the Ferris Law Office in Hudson.

On June 23, 1951 in Middleburgh, she married Gustave Raitz. He predeceased her in 2013.

Survivors include: her children and their spouses, daughter, Ruth and husband George K. Wittlinger, Sr., of Ancramdale; sons, Gustave W. Raitz and wife Mary of Smyrna, DE, D. Donald Coburn and wife Barbara of Seaford and Rhys L. Raitz and wife Karen of Nashville, TN; her grandchildren, Lauren Glenn and husband Kevin, Maureen Raitz and husband Ronald Fretz, Doreen Hiester and husband Dave, Meaghan Liwosz and husband Chris, Kaitlyn Raitz, Andrew Raitz, Matthew Raitz and Daniel Wittlinger; her great-grandchildren, Kevin Glenn, Ava Glenn, Amelia Fretz, Tessa Fretz and Madeleine Hiester; one brother, Lemert Q. Wilbur, Jr., of Ashland, OR, along with nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited and may call Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22, Copake.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 8, 2017, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Vicar Jacqueline Jefferson of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram officiating.

Private interment will be in Union Cemetery, Ancram. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, c/o Dennis Sigler, 51 Hall Hill Road, Ancram 12502.

Valera M. Molnar (1942 – 2017)

HUDSON—Valera M. “Butchie” Molnar, 74, of Greenport died Wednesday, May 3 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born September 13, 1942 in Hudson, she was the daughter of Frank and Naomi (Teator) Bryant.

Mrs. Molnar was a lifelong Hudson resident. She prided herself on being a homemaker and seamstress. She was a charter member of Greenport Pumper Company #3 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved baking and sharing her goods with everyone, and also loved caring for her menagerie of cats.

Left to cherish her memory are: her daughters, Michele (Fred) Fuchs, Kelly (Buddy) Schermerhorn and Stephanie Molnar and dear friend Denise Rivenburg; grandson, Jackson Fuchs; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, JoAnn and Ron Cardis, and Julia and Bob Lynch; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Molnar was predeceased by: her husband, Stephen A. Molnar, Jr.; son, Stephen III; daughter, Debra Molnar; siblings, Bettye Cozzolino, Shirley Navom, Mildred Roetina and Hugh Bryant.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6 from the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery.
