Maurice D. Mitchell (1937 – 2017)

PHILMONT—Maurice “Buddy” D. Mitchell of Valatie passed away peacefully October 8, 2017 at the Pine Haven Nursing Home.

Born September 26, 1937 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Maurice and Beatrice North Mitchell.

He is survived by: his three children, Rhonda Mitchell (Regina) of Pittsfield, MA, Kevin (Janeen) Mitchell of Warwick and Stephanie (Bert) Poucher of Ghent; a brother, Bobby (Fran) Mitchell of Stottville; a sister, Alice (George) Willaims of North Bay; 10 grandchildren, Bert (Marlana) Poucher of Ravena, Devin (Stephanie) Poucher of Copake, Lukas Poucher of Ghent, Barry Mitchell of Maybrook, Kaiti Mitchell of Burlington, VT, Sammy Mitchell of Warwick, Nicole Zimmermann of NYC, Grace Zimmermann and Natalie Zimmerman, both of Warwick and PJ Malatesta of Wallkill; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by wife, Ann Mitchell; son, Russell Mitchell; sister, Lillian McDonald and great-granddaughter, Davina Poucher.

Mr. Mitchell was an avid hunter and a diehard Yankees fan as well a New York Giants fan. He worked for Top Hill Farm and Skarship Farm for many years. He worked for Amtrak for 15 years until his retirement in 2002.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 11 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham where a religious service will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m.. There will be a get-together for anyone interested after the service at the West Ghent Reformed Church. Robert E. Charron (1963 – 2017)

HUDSON—Robert  “Pepper” E. Charron, 54, of Philmont died Saturday, October 7, 2017 in the company of his family at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born in Hudson, March 20, 1963, he was the son of Albert and Catherine (Brazee) Charron.

He was a self-employed contractor, loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed by: his wife, Denise M. (Perez) Charron at home; sons, Robert Perez, Justin Perez, Joshua Charron, James Charron and Devon Charron; daughter, Jasmine Charron; brothers, Russell Lockenwitz and Albert Charron, Jr.; sisters, Janice Murphy, Yvonne Schumann and Rose Gambacorta and his granddaughter, Madelyn Jill Hapeman. He was predeceased by his brothers, Chucky and Punchy Lockenwitz and one sister, Becky Garrison.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 11, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mellenville Union Cemetery.
