Alice E. K. Monterosso (1935 – 2018)
EAST GREENBUSH—Alice E. Karch Monterosso, 82, of East Nassau died peacefully Saturday evening, June 30, 2018 at Evergreen Commons.
Born in New Marlboro, MA, August 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Esther Spencer Karch. She resided in Pittsfield, MA, for a brief time before moving to East Nassau. She was a homemaker and also a caregiver for several people.
Mrs. Monterosso enjoyed crocheting, painting murals and gardening.
She was the wife of the late Dominick A. Monterosso, who died in 2007; beloved mother of Mark A. (Cindy) Monterosso, Sr., of Nassau; adored grandmother of Mark A. (Mandi) Monterosso, Jr., of Schodack and Rebecca Monterosso of East Nassau; great-grandmother of Dominic Monterosso; sister of Russell (Judy) Karch of Pittsfield, MA, and the late Albert and Donald Karch. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 State Route 43, Stephentown, Friday, July 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Lore Squier (1933 – 2018)
NEW LEBANON—Lore Squier, born Eleanora Amanda Barbara Oefelein in Arnshausen, Germany, March 7, 1933, passed away peacefully June 29, 2018.
She was the new bride of her beloved husband, David C. Squier, when they came to America in 1956 to start their family, eventually settling in New Lebanon. She proudly became an American citizen.
Mrs. Squier studied in Germany to be a seamstress but was known throughout the Lebanon Valley for her cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, volunteer work and her holiday parties. She was president, treasurer and 52-year member of the Lebanon Valley Woman’s Club and held offices at the district and state level of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs—NY. A former member of the Lebanon Valley Garden Club, she also served on the board of the Mount Lebanon Shaker Village. She was a member of the Lebanon Valley Historical Society and the Stephentown Federated Church Heavenly Quilters. Mrs. Squier was also an active member of the Porsche and Morgan sports car clubs. A proud parent and grandparent of Darrow School alumni, she devoted much of her volunteer time to the school and its students. She was a longtime member of the Adirondack League Club and loved nothing more than spending time at the family camp on the lake in the Adirondacks. She enjoyed cars, planes and boats but most of all her German Shepherds and the multiple cats that adopted her. She was truly a loving and proud mom and grandmother. She was happiest when she had her family together under one roof.
She is survived by: her loving sons, William (Beth Levine) Squier of Stamford, CT, John (Laurette) Squier of Falmouth, ME, and Michael (Rita) Squier of Chatham; grandchildren, Craig Squier, Levi Squier and Lauren Squier; brother, Georg Oefelein; sister, Annemarie (Richard) Benson; sister-in-law, Nancy Squier; nieces, Heidi Benson, Jennifer Buckley, Felicitas Oefelein and family members throughout the USA and Germany. She was predeceased by her husband, David C. Squier, and her parents, Wilhelmina and Ludwig Oefelein.
The Squier family deeply thanks the staff at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, Lenox, MA, for their kindness and excellent care.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hall and Higgins Funeral Home, 457 State Route 43, Stephentown. A service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will then take place in Cemetery of the Evergreens. Josephine R. Dinardi (1928 – 2018)
HUDSON—Josephine (Roetina) Dinardi, 89, passed away peacefully June 30, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 21, 1928 in Stockport to Joseph and Lillian (Miller) Roetina.
Mrs. Dinardi, along with her late husband, Silvio Dinardi, was co-owner and bookkeeper of the Royalton Motel, Dinardi Painting and Contracting and Dinardi Trucking. In her later years she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was also an avid bingo and card player.
Survivors include: her three children, her daughter Tammy Manning of Stuart, FL, sons, David Dinardi of Poughkeepsie and James and his wife Renee Dinardi of Hudson; her five grandchildren, David and his wife Amanda Colarusso of New Milford, CT, Brooke Colarusso of Port St. Lucie, FL, Michael Dinardi of Duluth, GA, Mark Dinardi of Hudson and Joshua and his wife Ashely Foutch of Albia, IA; her three great grandchildren, Layla and Maxwell Colarusso, and Rylan Foutch; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Decker of Hudson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Roetina, Jr., and sister, Annie Roetina Kreig.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 6, 2018 at noon from the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Elizabeth A. Kraft (1961 – 2018)
ALBANY—Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Kraft, 56, passed away June 30, 2018 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her family after a long battle with illness.
She was born November 15, 1961, the daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Beach) O’Neil of Chatham.
She is survived by: her husband of 38 years, Floyd; children, Daniel Kraft (Amanda), Erica Kraft; and grandchildren, Michael, Amari and Eli; her siblings, Arlene Gaylord (Paul), Alice Witherell (Charlie), Susan Tuttle (Jeff), Patrick O’Neil (Tamie), Christopher O’Neil, Joanne Myers (Jon) and her many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brother, John O’Neil.

Alfred E. Morris (1933 – 2018)
KINDERHOOK—Alfred E. Morris of Kinderhook died Sunday, July 1, 2018 with his wife by his side.
Born April 30, 1933 in Canaan, he was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Quinion) Morris.
Mr. Morris served in both the U.S. Army and Navy, retiring from active duty in 1971 and the Reserves in 1980. He was a Korean War veteran, earning the Silver Star and sharpshooter status. He also served in Vietnam in the U.S. Navy and was a nuclear weapons specialist aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Hancock.
He worked for the New York State Department of Labor for 20 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a lifetime member of the Palmer Engine and Hose Company and an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, 555 Joslen Boulevard, Hudson.
He and his wife took five cross-country trips together, making many friends along the way. They also enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach, SC, and Branson, MI.
He is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Helen E. (Funk) Morris; sons, Alfred E. Morris, Jr., (Kathleen) of Albuquerque, NM, and James E. Morris (Nan Healy) of Northborough, MA; daughter, Gloria Foley (Bill Charles) of Delmar; a sister, Dorothy Pfeiffer (Steven) of Hudson; grandsons, Nathan, Dylan and Ian Foley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Burial will follow in Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery.
