Roger E. Welch (1958 – 2019)

ST. REGIS FALLS—Roger E. Welch, “Uncle Bubba,” 61, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital.

He was born January 15, 1958 in Hudson, the son of the late Willard Robert and Bertha Florence (Beaumont) Welch.

Growing up in the area he attended Hudson High School, where he was employed as a bus driver for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling, boating, going to the casino and a good cold beer with his family and friends. At one time he was a member of the Washington Hose Fire Company, which is now the City of Hudson Fire Department, and the Polish Sportsmen’s Club, Hudson.

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his fiancée Sharon Patraw of St. Regis Falls; his daughters, Melanie Welch of Troy, Tara Welch and her companion Justin Slater of Brushton, and Kimberly Welch of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Connor “C-Man” Simmons of Brushton,, Arianna Stickles and Owen Teator, both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his siblings, Willard (Linda) Welch of Chatham, Bonny LaRock and her companion Harvey Scraper of Philmont; a nephew, Glen “Bubba” Welch of Chatham and a niece, Sabrina Stanhope of Philmont.

A graveside service will be held at a time to be announced

Maryann C. Schaible (1940 – 2019)

CLAVERACK—Maryann Cariseo Schaible, 78, of Claverack passed away peacefully Saturday, November 30, 2019 to be with her Lord Jesus; her parents, Sisto and Anna (Jacobs) Cariseo and her brother, Joseph.

She was born in Hudson, December 29, 1940 and attended Hudson High School, where she was involved in many activities including the Girls Athletic Association, softball, field hockey and cheerleading. In her junior year she was crowned football queen.

Mrs. Schaible worked at Taconic Hills High School for many years and made many friends with the staff and students there. She loved spending time with her dogs, gardening, reading and going out to dinner with family.

She is survived by: her husband, John Schaible; her daughter, Tania Orlowski Vega and son-in-law Fabian Vega; granddaughter, Isabella Vega; her brother, Patrick Cariseo and many cousins in Hudson and Connecticut.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services will be December 13, 2019, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial in Cedar Park Cemetery will follow.

Lois D. Keller (1945 – 2019)

ALBANY—Lois D. Keller passed away December 4, 2019 at St. Peters Hospital.

She was born June 16, 1945 in Canaan, the daughter of the late James and Ethel Smith Best.

She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Daniel Keller; daughters, Lynn (Paul) Oliver of Schenectady, Pamela Keller of Providence, RI; grandchildren, Lukas, Abrianna, Natalia, Matthew and Gabriel; sister, Evelyn (Kermit) Harry of Newport, PA; brother, Earl (Maryann) Best of CO. She was predeceased by her son, Todd Keller.

Mrs. Keller was executive secretary at Columbia Boxboard, member of the Ghent Ladies Auxiliary, assistant 4H leader and was on a league at the Chatham Bowl. She was an avid reader of fiction novels and loved the ocean. She had a magnetic personality, was kind and giving and had a contagious smile. Her family meant the world to her and her beautiful energy and spirit will live on forever.

Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, Sunday, December 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 9 at Saint James Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.

James W. Clifford, Jr. (1959 – 2019)

STOTTVILLE—James W. Clifford, Jr., 60, of Stottville passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at his home.

Born May 9, 1959 in Hudson, he was the son the late James W. Clifford, Sr., and Marsha A. (Williams) Clifford of Stottville.

Mr. Clifford worked for L & B Products as a spray painter for 35 years. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Bruins and the Oakland Raiders—all his favorites. He will be dearly missed by his family and all his girls.

Besides his mother, he is survived by: two sisters, Judy Wahlers (Duane) and Debbie Clifford (James Gabriel), both of Stottville; two nephews, Duane Wahlers, Jr., (Jeanne) and Raymond Wahlers (Amy).

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Route 203, Valatie. A reception following the service will be held at the Hudson Fish & Game Club at 2 p.m. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.

Germana P. Sachs (1959 – 2019)

ANCRAMDALE—Germana Polce Sachs, 60, of Ancramdale passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born May 11, 1959 in San ValenKno, Italy to Giuseppina DiTomasso Polce of Pittsfield, MA, and the late Cesare Polce.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 27 years, Paul Sachs; her son, Jason McCarthy; her sister, Marina Polce Finamore and her husband Tim of Glastonbury, CT; niece, Juliana; nephews, Patrick, Lucas and Dylan; her sister, Tina Polce Alibozek and her husband Michael of Adams, MA; niece, Victoria and nephew Nicholas. Other survivors include several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sachs had worked at Mazzeo’s Meat and Seafood in Great Barrington, MA, for 40 years prior to her illness.

Services will be held at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, Copake Falls, Tuesday, December 10 at 3 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Taconic Wayside Inn.
