CHATHAM–The Crandell Theatre will be closed through Thursday, April 16. The reopening on Friday, April 17, will be subject to then-current public health information. All scheduled programming during this time is canceled

CHATHAM–The Chatham Bookstore event with Barbara Bonner scheduled for Saturday, March 21 has been canceled.

CHATHAM & CANAAN— Due to the continuing health and safety concerns surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Chatham & Canaan Libraries will be closed for the next two weeks, through March 28. chatham.lib.ny.us

CHATHAM–Thompson Giroux Gallery, . postponing reception for THESPACE WITHIN by William Thompson. The artist reception for this show will be announced as soon as possible.

CHATHAM–19th Annual Sean’s Run Weekend scheduled for May 2 & 3, 2020 cancelled. This includes the 5K, Meghan’s Mile, Bike Rides,  Zumbathon, Prevention Education Expo, and World Championship Battle of the Belts. The event will not be rescheduled for this year. Questions? Email
CHATHAM–Price Chopper/Market 32 stores modify store hours to accommodate restocking and additional cleaning overnight. In an effort to better serve customers and communities, Price Chopper/Market 32 will temporarily adjust store hours. Effective Sunday morning, March 15, 2020, all 24-hour Price Chopper, Market 32 and Market Bistro stores will close at 1 a.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. to facilitate the restocking of product and to perform additional preventative sanitation.
CLAVERACK–Columbia Land Conservancy annual pancake breakfast at the A.B. Shaw Fire Company Saturday, March 14 has been canceled.

 

COPAKE—Roeliff Jansen Community Library, 9091 Route 22, Copake. In an effort to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus, the Roeliff Jansen Community Library will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, March 18, through March 31. The Library will reassess whether or not to reopen at that time. Patrons who have materials out may return them in the book drop when due or hold them until the Library reopens. COPAKE–St. Patrick’s Corned Beef Dinner at the Copake Grange #935, 628 Empire Road, Saturday, March 14, cancelled.

GERMANTOWN–The Town of Germantown has cancelled committee and board meetings at Town Hall and large gatherings at the Activity Building effective immediately. The Supervisor’s office, Clerk’s office, Justice Court and CEO’s office will continue to operate as usual, subject to change as developments dictate. The following meetings/gatherings are cancelled: Waterfront Advisory Committee meeting on March 16, 2020; Zoning Board Meeting on March 19, 2020; LWRP committee meeting on March 23, 2020; Board Workshop on March 24, 2020;  Planning Board Meeting on March 26, 2020; Germantown Economic Development Committee meeting on March 27, 2020; Germantown Farmer’s Market on March 28, 2020; Spring Mixer at the Central House on April 1, 2020; Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt on April 5, 2020.
In addition, we will not book large events at the Activity Building through April 15, 2020.

GHENT–Art Omi will suspend all public events and classes until further notice as of Thursday, March 12 at 5pm. The Benenson Center will be closed as of March 13 until further notice. Visitors will be welcome in the Sculpture & Architecture Park.

GHENT–Columbia County Republican Committee annual Lincoln Award Dinner scheduled for Thursday, March 19 has been postponed.

GHENT–Ghent Playhouse, 6 Town Hall Place, will close the theater for the remainder of its 2019-2020 season.

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, 14 Castle Street, announces the cancellation of all events from Friday, March 13 through Friday, April 10. For ticket exchanges and refunds, call the Mahaiwe box office at 413-528-0100 during standard box office hours, Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. The theater building will be closed to the public during this time. www.mahaiwe.org.

GREENPORT–The public Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at Columbia-Greene Community College, has been canceled.

GREENPORT–Columbia-Greene Community College will extend its Spring Break for students by one week, from Monday, March 16, to Friday, March 27, 2020. This calendar change will allow the college additional time to develop plans to transition courses, wherever possible, to remote instruction including distance- and online learning.

HILLSDALE—LABspace, 2642 NY Route 23, has put “Space Case” on pause for the time being, hopefully to reopen in April with viewings by appointment, and an eventual Closing Celebration to give this show a proper send off. 917-749-2857

HUDSON—HRC Showcase Theatre March 21 reading of Carol Mullen’s “For the People” will be postponed to a future date. No decisions have been made regarding readings scheduled for April and May

HUDSONHudson Hall will suspend all activities involving large gatherings for the next 30 days. Where possible they will be rescheduled. All ticket holders to Intelligent Lives (March 12), múm (March 25), The Orchestra Now (March 29), Camphill Hudson Players (April 3) and Bird Flight: A Charlie Parker Centennial Celebration concert series (starting April 4) have been notified with further information on how to exchange, receive a credit, convert tickets to a contribution, or receive a refund.The building and current and scheduled exhibitions will be open as planned during this period, with opening receptions to be rescheduled at a later date. Youth and community workshops taking place at Hudson Hall are also suspended.

HUDSON–Hudson High School production of “Shrek the Musical” has been postponed. HHS is looking to reschedule the performances sometime in April.

HUDSON–Starting Monday, March 16: Columbia Economic Development (CEDC) will suspend in-person meetings and instead, conduct meetings via teleconference, video conference or telephone. HUDSON–Christ Church Episcopal, 431 Union Street, is canceling its March 27-28 poetry reading and book sale.

HUDSON– TRICKS OF THE TRADE: A Magician’s Show and Tale at Lightforms Art Center, 743 Columbia St, Hudson, April 4 at 7 pm is cancelled.

KINDERHOOK–Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with the Kinderhook Memorial Library’s cancellation of all programs through March 31, the Ranger Time children’s program scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at the Martin Van Buren National Historic Site, 1013 Old Post Road, is cancelled. MELLENVILLE–Following the CDC’s recommendation discouraging gatherings of 50 or more people, the Claverack Republican Club has canceled the annual Easter egg hunt scheduled for April 11 at the Claverack Town Park in Mellenville. There are no plans to reschedule the hunt at a later date.

 MILLERTON–The Moviehouse, 48 Main Street, is closed temporarily, effective immediately. We will re-open as soon as our local and state health authorities say it is safe to do so, which hopefully, will be very soon. SPENCERTOWN–St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, 5219 County Rt. 7, has postponed its Community Pot Roast Dinner, Saturday, March 21 from 5-7pm. Future date to be announced.

VALATIE–The Tri-Village Seniors meeting at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 9, Valatie, scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2020 at 1 pm has been cancelled. Also the April 15 trip to Turning Stone Casino is cancelled as well.
