Drive for morale

Firefighters from Ancram, Copake, Hillsdale, Craryville, Churchtown, Philmont and Taghkanic, deputies and troopers, veterans and citizens put on their masks, got into their vehicles on Memorial Day and drove the scenic route from Ancram to Taghkanic. During the hour-long procession the motorcade passed through Copake, Copake Falls, Hillsdale, Craryville and Churchtown while distanced onlookers dotted the route–clapping and waving in appreciation. Several firetrucks sported banners thanking veterans, doctors and nurses and firefighters. With traditional Memorial Day parades not an option this year, organizers of the Memorial Day Firefighter Morale Drive thought area “communities needed this celebration to hopefully bring back some semblance of normalcy.” Photo by David Lee
