Martin Araoz (1989 – 2021)

ALBANY—Martin Araoz of Valatie passed away May 3, 2021 after a short hospitalization in Albany.

He was born in Salta, Argentina, the son of Lynda Hacker Araoz and Carlos Araoz. He attended Ichabod Crane High School, The Albany Academy and Hudson Valley Community College.

He is survived by his parents; his brother, Rigo Araoz; his cousins, Greg, Adam, Andy and Aiden Hacker; his aunt, Maria Belen and uncles, Horacio and Victor.

He loved the outdoors, music and putting a smile on someone else’s face. He was fascinated with extreme sports and was particularly talented in skiing and soccer. He loved having fun, traveling, experiencing new things and driving turbo engine VWs. He had a talent for fixing things, and was a quick master of any new device. Friends enjoyed his inspired meals, his sense of humor and his sensitivity to others.

His presence and his smiling face will be sorely missed. “We look forward to seeing him again strong and healthy enjoying eternal life in Christ.”

Visiting hours will be held at Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home in Valatie, Saturday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to noon with a brief service following. Burial will be in Kinderhook Reformed Cemetery.

Louisette Crolius (1925 – 2021)

CHATHAM—Louisette Crolius left us peacefully in her sleep, May 4.

Born in Sainteny, France, she was one of eight children.

She met the love of her life, George in 1944, while he was stationed in France in 1944 during the war. She came to America in 1945.

She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, working in her garden, crocheting and doing crafts. She was an avid Bingo player.

She is survived by: her daughter, Lynn Bell (John); a grandson, Tom Bell (Dawn Danis); a granddaughter, Bonnie Bell (Matt Oleniak) and a great-grandson, Austin Bell.

She was predeceased by her husband, George; her great-granddaughter, Linnea Bell and all her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Weldon A. Tuttle (1929 – 2021)

GHENT—Calling hours for Weldon A. “Tut” Tuttle, a longtime resident of East Chatham, who died January 28, 2021 at the Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center will be held Saturday, May 15 at 11 a.m. from the Wenk Funeral Home, Chatham. An inurnment service will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, New Concord with a reception to follow at his daughter’s home.

Loy Joiner (1951 – 2021)

CASTLETON—Loy A. Joiner, 69, of Castleton passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born July 24, 1951 in Oceanside, he was the son of the late Herbert Hugh and Josephine (Delker) Joiner.

Mr. Joiner was a field service engineer at Xerox in New York City for more than 35 years. He was an avid metal detector.

He is survived by: his wife, Mariann Joiner (Grieco); his daughter, Kerrie Dianna Joiner of Castleton; a son, Robert Paul Joiner of Rockville Center; two grandchildren, Christa Mae and Alexa Rae Burger. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 10, 2021, 12:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Castleton. Visitation hours will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4594, New York City 10163.

Meyer E. Meyerson (1955 – 2021)

CHATHAM—It is with great sadness, the family of Meyer E. Meyerson acknowledges his passing May 4, 2021 after a long, courageous battle with leukemia and cancer.

Born in Mount Kisco in 1955 to the late Dorothy Meyerson, he always called Chatham his true home.

He was very well-known for his fishing expertise, his self-sacrificing caring nature, infectious laugh, warm smile and kind soul. Mr. Meyerson was a master carpenter for many years. All around Columbia County and beyond, his footprint will forever be there.

He leaves behind: his absolute pride and joys, his three wonderful children, son, Meyer (Bud) Meyerson, II, (Kimberly), daughter, Kirstin Loftus (William) and youngest daughter, Cassandra Meyerson (Daniel). The other loves of his life besides trout and bass were his grandchildren, Emma Meyerson “his Chunky Monkey,” Elijah Meyerson “his Porcupine,” Grace Meyerson “his Pollywog,” Aryana Anderson “his Hummingbird,” Liam Loftus “his Lee” and Grady Loftus “his Gman;” his sister, Gale Straitiff (Dan) of Jacksonville, FL; brother from another mother, Darrell Dutcher (Patty); his ex-wife and friend, Gayle Schrader, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends that were family.

He was predeceased by: his brothers, Earl Weeks, Henry Meyerson and Stephen Meyerson; his second mom, Virginia (Ginny) Holt; many dear friends and family.

Wenk Funeral Home in Chatham has been entrusted with final arrangements.
