Leona M. Rieker (1927 – 2021)

CATSKILL—Leona M. Rieker, 93, of Kinderhook passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at The Pines at Catskill.

Born July 6, 1927 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Leopoldina (Pella) Kleinfeldt.

Mrs. Reiker was a kindergarten teacher at Ichabod Crane Primary School for many years.

She is survived by: two sons, the Reverend Eric Rieker of Pompton Lakes, NJ, and the Reverend John Rieker of Cairo; eight grandchildren, Rhiannon, Rhonda, Renee, Eric, Zac, Joshua, Erica, Katherine and Christopher; 10 great-grandchildren, Callista, Ryan, Emma, Cheyenne, Zachariah, Sebastian, Paige, Alex, Wyatt and Olivia. She was predeceased by her husband, the Reverend Eric H. Rieker.

Funeral services were held May 1 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Hudson with the Reverend Jonathan Hodges officiating. Burial followed in Kinderhook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Seminary Fund, 8 Storm Avenue, Hudson 12534. Arrangements were with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.

Richard Dotterer

Richard T. Dotterer (1968 – 2021)

EAST GREENBUSH—Richard T. Dotterer, 52, of East Greenbush passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at home.

He was born in Schenectady, the son of Janice (Robinson) Dotterer Butts and the late Jeffrey Dotterer.

He attended Hudson Valley Community College and received his certification in trades of plumbing, heating, drywall, electrical and painting. He enjoyed helping others with these skills and applied them to his work as a plant operation manager for The Eddy Rehabilitation in Troy, The Grand Nursing and Rehab in Valatie and later Ghent Rehabilitation in Ghent.

Mr. Dotterer enjoyed different RC groups buying, selling and blogging. He enjoyed spending time with family doing funny skits on YouTube, kayaking, fishing, boating, long road trips and animals.

Survivors include: his wife, Michelle M. Johnson-Dotterer; children, Thomas A. Hatz, Sara J. Hatz, Heather M. St.Pierre, Randy J. Johnson, Jr., Amanda L. Johnson; two grandchildren, Adam M. Hatz and James R Hatz; siblings, Robert Dotterer and Beth Dotterer; stepsiblings, Billy and Linda Butts.

Friends may call Sunday, May 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the William J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Turnpike in Rensselaer with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3 p.m. To attend virtually via Zoom:
