The Ghent VFW Post 5933 held its annual Coats for Kids distribution on Saturday, November 20. But more than just coats, there was an assortment of mittens, gloves, scarfs, hats and snow pants, displayed for selection by any kids who needed them. All of the clothing is like new. Ed Northup, who has overseen the event for several years, said this would be his last. He plans to transfer the assignment to someone else. Last year there was a limit of one family at a time and nobody could try anything on due to the pandemic, but this year the only precaution was to wear a mask.
