Oscar Peterson (l) was putting the final touches on his painting of the Hudson River as it disappeared into the darkness on the horizon at The Olana State Historic Site. The state park partnered with Drawing America for the second annual Plein Air Painting Festival Saturday, September 24. Painters gathered from around the region to take advantage of the Olana viewshed. It was the greatest muse of the 19th century landscape painter Frederic Church, who built his house on top of the hill in Greenport with a view of the river below. Photo by David Lee
