Hudson man arrested for menacing with weapon and other charges

HUDSON—City Police arrested Jayvon Fason, 20, of Hudson for second degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony; third degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony; second degree menacing (with a weapon) and second degree contempt (disobey a court order), both class A misdemeanors, Saturday, January 28.

That day at 5:46 a.m. Hudson Police received a call reporting that Mr. Fason was involved in a domestic incident. The caller reported that the incident occurred at their North Second Street apartment. During the incident, Mr. Fason allegedly displayed a handgun. The victim was able to leave the apartment for her safety prior to police arrival.

Police took Mr. Fason into a custody without incident. Shortly thereafter a search warrant was requested and signed by Columbia County Judge Richard Koweek. Police recovered a unregistered 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a 31-round magazine from the apartment.

Mr. Fason had allegedly violated a valid order of protection issued by then City Court Judge Brian Herman in 2022 by possessing an illegal handgun.

Mr. Fason was arraigned before Judge John Connor in Hudson Court. He was released on his own recognizance and was due back in court at a later date.
