AUSTERLITZ–Fire destroyed a garage, a pop-up camper and most of a 2-story house at 140 Macedonia Road, the afternoon of August 7.
Firefighters rescued the homeowners’ cat from the burning house and saved two rooms and their contents, according to Austerlitz Fire District Chief Jeff Prack.
CHATHAM–An Albany man was killed when two vehicles crashed on Route 203 at the Chapel Drive intersection, July 30 at 10:31 p.m.
According to Livingston State Police Investigator Eric Barnes, Ralph J. Glover III, 34, of Albany was driving a Lexus convertible west on Chapel Drive when he arrived at the intersection and made a left turn to head south on Route 203. As the Glover vehicle made the turn it pulled into the path of a northbound GMC pickup truck driven by James M. Lensink, 18, of Niverville.
Mr. Glover was pronounced dead at the scene.
HUDSON–City police arrested two men they suspect of selling cocaine after executing a search warrant on the third floor at 409 Warren Street, July 23 at 2:26 p.m.
Renell Herrington, 56, who lives at the raided residence, was taken into custody just outside the building.
William Chester Morrison, 22, also of Hudson, was arrested inside the residence.
VALATIE–The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a personal injury pickup truck/bicycle accident that happened on Route 203, July 17 at 12:12 p.m.
Michael W. Swift, 48, of Valatie, was driving east in his 2001 Toyota pickup truck when the passenger side of his truck was struck by a bicycle ridden by Jeffrey L. Olsen, 46.
HUDSON–City Police arrested a man in connection with a robbery and assault at Star Market, 534 Warren Street, Thursday, July 16 at 9:35 a.m.
While following up on leads about the suspect, identified as James F. Gaudiosi, 43, of Hudson, police spotted him running away from them and into his Fairview Avenue residence.
