Matthew Larabee

Matthew J. Larabee (1966 – 2022)

PITTSFIELD, MA—Matthew J. Larabee, 55, of New Lebanon passed away at Berkshire Medical Center, Monday, February 7, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after suffering a cardiac event.

He was born August 21, 1966 in Pittsfield, MA, to Malcolm and Susan (Miller) Larabee. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Pittsfield, and a lifelong employee in the family business, Larabee Fuel, Co. Inc. of New Lebanon.

He had a passion for helping others, which started in childhood, collecting funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This developed into an annual carnival-style fundraising event, which was enjoyed by all. He presented his donation yearly on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. Read more…

Gloria Campeta

Gloria G. Campeta (1933 – 2022)

GHENT—Gloria G. Campeta, 88, recently of Ghent and formerly of Greenport, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born April 3, 1933 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Gino and Mary (Morri) Campeta.

She was a financial analyst for IBM Kingston for 31 years, she was a member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Hudson and St. Mary’s Church since 1992. She was a member of the Christian Services Committee and the CMH Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Greenport Senior Citizens. Ms. Campeta was a loving sister and aunt. She will be missed dearly by her sister, Jean Baney of Freehold; brother, Frank Campeta of Greenport; her sister-in-law, Frances Campeta of Valatie; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, John “Nino” Campeta, Anthony Campeta and a sister, Mary Mitchell. Read more…

Anna Belle Dipper (1932 – 2022)

LAKE KATRINE—Anna Belle Dipper, 89, a longtime area resident, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Ten Broeck Commons.

Born June 28, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Mae (Butts) Heady. She married John J. Dipper. He predeceased her November 19, 1996.

A retired school bus driver, Mrs. Dipper drove predominantly for Dutchess County BOCES based in Poughkeepsie. She also drove for School Transit and Roger Beckwith. Read more…

Jon F. Rocker (1962 – 2022)

ANCRAMDALE—Jon F. Rocker, 59, of Ancramdale passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side, Sunday, January 16, 2022.

He was born July 7, 1962 in Great Barrington, MA, the son of the late John and Jane (Rocker) Derrick.

He was a graduate of Taconic Hills Central School and served his country with the United States Army military police from 1981 to 1983 while stationed in Germany.

A self-employed carpenter by trade he also worked as a lab technician for the Schweitzer-Mauduit Paper Mill from 1998 to 2013. Read more…
