She was born July 10, 1941 in Brooklyn to Costantino and Phyllis Spatafora.

Asa Nostrand (1927 – 2020)
HUDSON—Asa “Ace” Nostrand, devoted family man and dear friend to many, died Thanksgiving evening, November 26, 2020, at the age of 93. He died peacefully at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson with his beloved son, Paul and daughter-in-law, Renée by his side.
He was born to Mildred Crawford and Paul Nostrand in Baldwin, March 21, 1927. Hit hard by the Great Depression, his family moved to Taghkanic, to help run a family farm at the end of Nostrand Road.
He grew up on the farm raising cows, chickens and vegetables and lived a rugged childhood without running water or electricity. With his brothers, Paul, Jr., and Joseph, he walked to a one-room schoolhouse on List By-Pass every day. He eventually attended high school at Roeliff Jansen and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in February 1945, just a few months shy of graduation. Patrick N. Cariseo (1948 – 2020)
GREENPORT—Patrick Nicholas Cariseo, 72, a lifelong Hudson resident died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home in Greenport.
Born in Hudson May 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Sisto and Anna (Jacobs) Cariseo. After high school, he served with the U.S. Army Infantry during the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal. Read more…

ELIZAVILLE—Susan Jane Swanson, 60, of Elizaville passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 22, 1960 in Yonkers, she was the daughter of the late Devaughn Westover and Clare Westover of Pennsylvania.

VALATIE—Jayne Wainwright Hester (Dutchie), 69 years old, passed away November 17, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Albany, March 8, 1951 to parents, Martin Hester and Laurie Counihan Hester.
She went to high school at St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson. She attended Columbia-Greene College and went on to earn her degree from Sienna College in Albany. Ms. Hester worked for State Senator Doug Hudson, was executive director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, owner of The Rosery flower shops, The OK Package Store and The Kinderhook B&B. Read more…
