Stephen C. Dellea (1967 – 2022)

HUDSON—Stephen C. Dellea, 54, of Hillsdale passed away May 9, 2022 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was born in Oklahoma City, July 4, 1967, the son of James Dellea and the late Suzanne (Gallo) Dellea.

He was a carpenter and enjoyed building things with his hands. He also spent many hours outdoors taking in the sights and sounds of nature. A one-of-a-kind person, who will surely be missed by all who were blessed to be a part of his life.

He is survived by: his father, James Dellea; his siblings, Lyn Pepeard, Bonnie Dellea, Judith Mackay, James Dellea, Jr., Jamie Roberts, Yvonne Dellea and Jennifer Rodriguez; many nieces and nephews, along with numerous cousins and friends. Read more…

According to Ryan Proper, the conditions for skating on the rink at the Copake Community Park have been excellent for the past several weeks. The ice is maintained by the town. A Bobcat skid-steer loader with a broom attachment sweeps the ice clean and then a hand operated resurfacer creates a smooth and even surface. Anna Dipper

Anna Belle Dipper (1932 – 2022)

LAKE KATRINE—Anna Belle Dipper, 89, a longtime area resident, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Ten Broeck Commons.

Born June 28, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Mae (Butts) Heady. She married John J. Dipper. He predeceased her November 19, 1996.

A retired school bus driver, Mrs. Dipper drove predominantly for Dutchess County BOCES based in Poughkeepsie. She also drove for School Transit and Roger Beckwith. Read more…

Anybody seen Uncle Drosselmeyer?

On Friday, December 3, the Hudson Valley Academy of Performing Arts (HVAPA), 957 Route 82 in Taghkanic, rehearsed The Nutcracker ballet. The performances are on Sunday December 12 at noon and 4 p.m. in the PAC at the Taconic Hills Central School in Craryville. The dancers help each other with their flower diadems. He sells chain saws and other useful stuff

The 30th Annual Beaver Mountain Farm Auction in Ancram was held Saturday, April 10. Everything was on sale from hay bales to a 19th century horse-drawn grain wagon to a giant Caterpillar D8K bulldozer. The event is held on land adjacent to the Don Duksa Farm on Route 27A.
